I'm not sure what's on tonight's menu. I'm hungry, I see a few Japanese restaurants near my new house. Four within a five mile radius. Might do what I did in my old town, try them all.
So, kind of like an Italian pasty? Do you deep fry, bake in oven, something else? Looks like it was oven baked from your pic. T
What about Indian food near your new digs? We did a daal/stew last night. Red lentils, onions, garlic, a few tsp of butter sauce, 1/2 tsp of tumeric powder, a dash of Cayenne (the spice not the SUV!), chicken stock, Swiss chard, and some pindi channa (a chickpea curry) I picked up @ Kroger. Filling and yummy with a generous amt of Sriracha...T Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm surprised my old town didn't have many Indian restaurants. The town is home to the first Sikh temple in North America, so large South Asian population.
Motivated by a post a week or two back, I made simple desserts for the wife and I. Faux banana Nilla Wafer pudding. Image Unavailable, Please Login Nilla wafers are made by a small bakery in the tiny town of Slaton, Texas. The "pudding" is Oikos Triple Zero banana pudding. And a little dollop of Cool Whip to complete the old school vibe. T
Had Japanese with the parents. Did the restaurant across the street from the police station. It was good. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Today's dinner was odd but fun. So two parts. First is the veggies. Cut and prepped. Sauteed in bacon grease. Chicken cut up and marinated in soy sauce. Beans heated on stovetop. Next was putting it all together. So much was involved it was a blast. To give you an idea we had red peppers, garlic, onions, bacon, corn, beans, pickles, chicken, soy sauce, spices, and topped with sesame. Rolled in this thing I've never done before. Came out a huge hit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They look nice! I'd love to add a couple but what we have are perfectly fine, super sharp, etc... Maybe sometime. Trying to keep stuff to a minimum. Got the espresso maker yesterday and the wife's first question, even before unboxed, was where is that living?!
Braised Bison Sirloin Steaks. Awesome. Little too salty from the bouillon cubes, we'll adjust that next time. The wife got the recipe here: http://bisoncouncil.com/bison-recipes/braised-bison-sirloin-steaks Image Unavailable, Please Login
Whip her up a mocha! She'll love it. Use the frother to whip up cold milk with cocoa powder in it. A shot or two of espresso, depending on how large you want your drink, poured through the whipped milk AKA "upside-down". A very little mixy mix with a coffee stirrer. Enjoy...T
My loyalty to North Dakota State U does not allow me to eat bison. BUT, that looks terrific. Image Unavailable, Please Login Go Thundering Herd! T
Some kind of unlabeled fish cake from the polish store. It was great! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I didn't feel like eating out. So ran into Costco and got Kirkland pesto sauce. They have self serve check out here, in and out fast.
First homemade meal in the new place? Indoor smash burgers. Planned on doing it on the grill, but T storms blew into DFW. Decent crust for indoors, considering my matching orders from the missus were "Don't set off the smoke alarm!" American for the missus. Jalapeño cream cheese for me. The maters we found at the store were quite good for this time of the year. T
Awesome. I still remember the first meal I made in our current house, spaghetti. I chose that because it was the first meal I ever cooked for the wife when we were dating...T
