Picking up my Portofino today, notice the wheel gaps are huge. I wonder how low I can go on stock suspension? Thank you!

My dealer lowered each corner 1” on the stock coil overs. I have experienced no issues after 500 miles.

You can lower on the stock suspension only with Magneride. Not on the standard suspension.

Did you pick up your Porto from an American dealer? Wondering if there are any restrictions in the US?

    Yes.

My dealer has no problem with it. They would do it for me.

I would be gobsmacked if it effected the warranty, considering it is “adjustable” from factory...
Think your dealer is telling you porkypies

I did the same. Approx 2.5mm / 1 inch is a perfect setting, both in looks and driving behavior. No warranty effected.

Lol. That's great. So the gearbox gives out or the roof fails, then what? He's going to say it was because yoh had the car lowered a bit? That's rich.

Asked the local Challenge tech about this. He said that if the car came with ACTUAL stock ride height from factory, then no more than 20mm. He added that doing a 15 mm rear and 20 mm front lowering would dial out some of the understeer and balance the car better.

Just to clarify. I say actual stock ride height, because these cars often come out of the factory slightly off in this regard. Some may sit 5 mm higher than stock, others a bit lower. So getting it properly measured at the dealer before adjusting it, is a good idea. If the car sits 5 mm higher than spec, a 25 mm drop is fine. But if your car sits 5 mm below, you may have issues.

now i asked my dealer again and the master mechanic told me he can do it but he will charge me crazy money as he needs to redo the whole suspension.
my question is: did you guys need to redo the alignment on the car after it being lowered?
because i can do it outside the dealer for fraction of the cost.
    thanks

Yes you absolutely do need a realignment after a lowering. If you feel confident you can do the lowering yourself, you can do that and then get the car realigned. But don't listen to anyone who say you don't need the alignment, because they then clearly know nothing.

you will need corner balance and alignment but you can do it at some race prep shop after AD lower it. race shop would do it better and set up better. But if you are not fighting for the last drop of performance, then you can just lower and alignment would be good enough.
