I’m in the market for a 599 and aware of the differences between a “standard” 599 GTB and one with the HGTE kit (either factory or dealer fit). I was wondering whether dealers are still able to fit the kit to a standard car and, if so, what the likely cost would be ?

Welcome - you might help us to help you by giving a hint as to your territory - or just call a local dealer.....

I’m in the UK and will be test driving an HGTE next week, but thought I’d pose the question here before asking the dealer.

There may be some upgrade kits out there, if I recall, about $20k USD. Note: You cannot upgrade CPU on some early 599s. It's after a specific chassis #

Yes, I'd seen the advert. Where are you based ?

I have a 2008 for sale (in the US). In 2010, the owner added HGTE kit at a cost of $50k USD!

In my opinion, you are better off buying a car with HGTE vs adding it to a non-HGTE car. You’ll never be able to recoup the investment, even if parts are still available.

Thanks Joe, that's really helpful insight. Am driving an HGTE (factory fit) tomorrow ...

Yep, my 2008 has HGTE and it was $42K. There are a bunch of variations in dealer updated cars; you will see lower prices but what does it include?
