What I find interesting here is that the final design turned out a lot like the concept showed last year. Maybe it is because the Mirai is going to be built on the TGNA platform, the same as used for Camry and Avalon. Fortunately, Toyota management has refrained making any "improvements" like they did to the Supra between concept and production. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No! But Lexus sure is. Here is a recent Lexus exercise by 8 Lexus designers imagining life on the moon. And naturally, there is a spindle or two in there. Full article below. Image Unavailable, Please Login https://lexusenthusiast.com/news/

Yes it is! I’m living proof of that phenomenon. And it paid me just fine, thank you very much. The monkey in the photo is spot on.
There's some good ideas in that link for Lexus to go into the futuristic cat toy business. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting. But caution with the volume control. Niels van Roij Design: Tesla Model S Shooting Brake
Well, since I really am lusting for a Tesla S longroof, I'm willing to cut this one some slack. 'Cept for the £200k price tag....... But don't I recall this one is 2-3 years old? Maybe I can get it at a depreciated price now, as the owners will probably be ready to move on...... edit: I found at least 3 others, still looking for the von Holzhousen one....
A new BMW 7 Series drove into my cul de sac today. The front of this car is hands down the ugliest thing on the road. The grill looks every bit like the fake giant grill memes and the rest of the front is ridiculous also. Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is the deal with oversized grills? No really, what is up with this ailment that has infected so many design studios? BMW design has had it's issues in the past but the oversized grill is nothing short of grotesque. -F
I know this is not about automotive design per se, but it is within the creative arts, and is transportation design related. Having returned from my sabbatical, I have tried to get back into the thread, but realize I'm too old. I don't like any of the new designs. I also realize designers don't care what I like or don't like because I'm not a buyer anymore. Ah, the freedom of turning into an old grouch. Freedom is not giving ****!
