Guess #99999 should've sold through RM or someone else. High bid of $2.5m according to Hammer Price app. But imo, Worldwide's auction looked like they were pulling teeth just to get people to bid. Didn't catch the F50 on stage, but saw several cars before that where the auctioneer would throw out a starting bid and people would open up drastically lower & go from there, many cars only bidding in only $5,000 increments before never selling.

The 99999 chassis number confuses some people who (based on what has been published online in the past) think there may be more than one F50 with that number, and that's a source of concern to them.

Was this the F50 from the Santa Monica Leads Auction in 2016? If so I was the 2nd highest bidder and no regrets, it was pretty ruff.

Not going to link as I don't want to appear associated with the car/dealer, but #99999 is now being pubicly advertised for $3.3m.

    The long way home
I don't think it's much of a secret - the car is again being listed by Autosport Designs, just as it has been for the last couple of years. This should be a cautionary tale and could be a case study in how not to market a unique, high value collectible.

I think the current advertised price of $3.3m is significantly less than what was previously being sought.

I think the current price will elicit serious interest.

I saw this Nero car back in 2018 when it passed from one Ohio collector to another. I was told the car had 900 miles on it at the time, I don't know how true that is.
