I’m pretty sure I’ve posted this before- maybe even on this thread so apologies if this is a repeat but since there are so many questions about progress and when picture will come- here is a timeline of my wait with my Pista. Pictures don’t come till almost to the end. March 30, 2019 Allocation offered May 9, 2019 - Status 10 - Order submitted September 26, 2019 - Status 20 - Chassis assembly October 8, 2019 - First build pic October 11, 2019 - Second build pic October 14, 2019 - Status 70 October 17, 2019 - Status 90 October 18, 2019 - Third build pic November 22, 2019. - Status 91- In port December 3, 2019 - Status 92 Waiting on transport December 9, 2019 - Status 93 Shipping December 13, 2019 - car arrived at dealership December 16, 2019 - delivered to me
These are so random. Some get them early, others get the first build photo a week prior to delivery. It's like the box with the little model. Some get it after a few months, some after a few years. It is not easy waiting, but there is not much else to do than let things happen.
That was a long wait. This is my first Ferrari order from spec but I paid the deposit on Jan. 2, the order was placed that day and I was told that I would get a March/April build slot but that they might be able to get me an earlier one. By Jan 10 my car had started production and on Jan 15 I was told it was going to paint. I don't know how long the rest of the process will be but I don't have any pictures at my-new.ferrari.com and the car status says waiting list. Obviously I am not getting the F8 now since I chose the 812 but I am glad I did because it appears I will have a nice new Ferrari in just a couple of months. I had planned to order the F8 Spider anyway which would be an even longer wait and I hate waiting. I should also add that I think the purchase of a new $295k dealer spec 2020 Portofino off the showroom floor in December probably helped me out in this pecking order process.
I am sure the Portofino helped! My guess is someone cancelled their F8 Allocation and they slid you in........I think that happened to me (I was 5 or 6 on the list and somehow got the 3rd allocation). They are telling me new orders here are late 2020 or maybe 2021. I was also status 30 over a week ago and hope things are moving along (have not had time to reach out to dealership). From everything I have seen, it is about 2 months from Status 90 till you get the car. So I am figuring mid/late March at this point.
My car finally started loving again! Status 70 as of yesterday it took 26 days to go from 40 to 70. My first picture just showed up.
26 days?? I just went 40 today. I guess I will get it by July Congrats. Nice to see a photo from someone finally
Or they could camp out in front of the dealership with their families like you did. Lol. I hope you are enjoying your beautiful Pisa. All the best , Kirk.
It is interesting to see the whole new Ferrari order process. The numbers for status, I have never seen before, not surprising. I put a deposit for an F8 back in May 2019 and still waiting to see if I have an allocation. I sold both my 3 pedal 360 and 599GTB for this car. I am guessing that since this is my first new Ferrari, I am very low on the totem pole.
I put my deposit down in June, order accepted by Ferrari in September. I’m now at status 30 (painting). I’m also a first time purchaser from the factory, you might want to check back with your dealer and see what’s going on...
I must say, I really love the F8. - I never cared for the 458 design. I especially thought the profile was dull. - I ordered a new 488 GTB and really enjoyed it. Sold it about a year ago. The design took all the nice 458 elements and added muscle to it. - I had a Pista allocation, and I very much like the Pista, but I hate stripes. Though I could have ordered one without stripes, I admit, there’s something off about the car without them. - The F8 is my favorite of all of them. I love the updated 488 air intakes and the hood treatment is perfect. My collection has since moved towards older cars and restoring a Countach, but I remain a great admirer of the F8. Spectacular car. Congrats to all those getting one. Enjoy.
I did. He told me that they should find out from Ferrari what their allocation is for 2020 by the end of the month.
I wouldn’t stress about it. While some dealers are still touring that old line, the new Ferrari reality is, for the standard production models, if you have the money, you’ll get your car.
My car is finally finished. Here’s the completed factory photo. Shouldn’t be too long now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats, looks like you’ll have one of the first customer cars in the US. BTW, what is that on the back of the roof? I’ve not seen that on any of the cars so far.... Did they put some sort of antenna on production cars? Image Unavailable, Please Login
