    Weak areas :
tft screen, if u try a car and it blinks once, it is the end soon (not many issues with cars used for short runs)
    radiator leaking
shock absorbers leaking ( not many issues if you run the car regularly)
fuel pump ( for the first year cars)
at least, our problems in Europe

The screen on mine is starting to blink , a very very quick one and short one ! It’s barley noticeable. Is it the start of its end ?

I am afraid so, it starts like that, then cut off for more seconds then, one day, nothing but I noticed if you run short trips, it doesn’t happen. It is only with 500 kms trips it did happen to mine. Now it is dead ang getting repaired. Where are you based ? I can help

These are very reliable cars overall. Maintenance/condition is the biggest issue. Xavier gave a good list of the high points. Like most of these cars, you can also get motor mount sagging, dash shrinkage, and stickies.

I agree with all of this and just wanted to say that the tft screen can be fixed. Adjust the price of the car for the fix = 2500 USD

Perhaps this topic should become a sticky ?
Also the 07s cant be fully converted to HGTE spec , as some are advertised , because the shift speed cant be increased. ECU incompatibility IIRC.
There is a seperate thread for leaking shock resolutions.

No major problems to be aware of really. As mentioned, leaking fuel pumps (inexpensive fix) are common, and typical sticky plastics inside.

My own car had both of those, plus a bad rear tie rod at 17k miles, and I’ve burst two separate heater hoses at different times (both under 20k miles). The replacement hoses from Ferrari are inexpensive, relatively easy to replace, and are revised and better than the originals.

This is the only other car I have seen without shields, and they're both black. I love mine!

My black 599 didn’t have the shields either. But I’ve since added them.

Did you guys add aftermarket shields to the fenders. Or go the full enchilada and get the fenders Frenched so the shields can be recessed?

Mine are aftermarket 1mm think cloisonné shields. I think they look very good... I know that not everyone likes them but for me it's an emotional connection - I love how they were always on the race cars when I was growing up...so wanted them on my Ferrari.

I got mine from a guy in the UK on ebay.

I think I got mine from the same guy. They were about $170, and they’re very high quality. I’m really impressed with them.[IMG][IMG]

Those are the ones! you can lightly bend them a bit as well. the sides of the 599 are flatter than the 8cyl cars so I had to flatten them a bit with some heat.

Nice. If only it was as easy to go in the opposite direction for those of us who like the nude look!
