True, Mitch Mitchell was always on the hunt for the perfect 18" Kick.

They still have all the same heads other then the snare, :) just can't bring myself to change em, but honestly they still sound good.

Like Rob I hadn't played in over 20 years when I got that old set out.

My son who plays lead guitar talked me into taking the old set
to his place just to fool around with him, of course that led to a band and being out playing again :)

I'm now playing Beautiful set of DW's always wanted DW's they really are awesome!

But this time they're being carried in the back of my Range Rover.

Never tried to put them in the 550 haha !

    Cheers

But the big question is, did you lug the drums around in a Ferrari?

Bill, Just discovered this thread and greatly enjoyed your memories of 3269. I'd love to know more about your musical career. Were you a jazz drummer?

Many thanks. I know the barchetta.cc website. An fantastic resource. The car is now in Switzerland in great ownership. Sorry to hear Lorenzo Zambrano has passed. I remember him parking 3269 in the paddock at Monterey. Such a cool way to arrive at the races.
Love to know more about Bill Karp's drumming career. I bet Nick Mason never carried his drum kit in any of his Ferraris!

Hi, This part is incorrect ...my car was never offered for sale by these people (75/feb - offered by Brian Classic, Bucklow Hill, GB T&CC 2/75 p64)
because it was not for sale until Sold it to Lorenzo :)

67 - Bill Karp, L.A., CA, USA (studio musician)
    75/feb - offered by Brian Classic, Bucklow Hill, GB T&CC 2/75 p64
80/sep - Lorenzo Zambrano, Monterrey, MEX via Ed Niles

Hi, During my days with 3269 it was rock'n roll.. Recording studios, clubs, Vegas lounges etc ...not in Nick Masons League :)
    Thanks for your interest.
One other thing, It makes me sad that the car will no longer be driven it made such a great daily driver :)

Bill, Great to hear from you. Thanks for the corrective notes and info about your career. Such is the wonder of the internet and Ferrari Chat. Just love the image of your Bertone beauty turning up for gigs at studios and clubs for gigs and sessions in the '60s. You were one cool dude. I see from your drum kit there's a logo for The Creations. Was that your band?
I always wondered about why Brian Classic was listed on the Barchetta history. I gather the French Ferrari historian Antoine Prunet is now doing a whole book on 3269! Cheers, Mick

Bill, Just to show you that you that 3269 is no concours queen and is still enjoyed by the lucky owner, here's a shot taken last summer. Not as cool as driving around California in the 60s and 70s, but great to see it on the open road. Best, Mick

That's awesome so glad he's enjoying it the way it should be enjoyed ... Thanks for sharing !

Antoine Prunet is doing a book and has been in touch with me.. I've sent him the information and pictures he requested.

He just contacted me again last week I guess some of the pictures are not high enough quality to be reproduced in the book he asked if I had any others unfortunately my answer was no, I realized the pictures I had are quite old .

Thanks again for the photo of my beautiful car on the road again can't tell you how happy this makes me :)

    I beg to differ.
While I greatly admire Mr. Karps ability and willingness having used it as a daily commuter/transporter, that road and scenery seems much more appropriate what the car was intended for, Gran Turismo. :)

    Thanks for posting this info.

-What type of regular maintenance did the 250 require back when you owned it?

-Which do you prefer -- the 250 or the 550?

-Who was better -- Ginger Baker or John Bonham?

    Thanks again.

Used to see your car and the other Berton Ferrari at Tillacks all the time when Zambrano had it and Tillack took care of it. Always amazed by it's delicate design.

Don't recognize a lot of cars there, like the TDF and white/blue Vignale-looking car.

Several years back after the car was restored Lorenzo took it to a lot of shows..
Then I was visiting Steve and he took me to a warehouse where all of Lorenzo's cars were stored
My beautiful little car was sitting at the end of a row of cars (there were several rows of cars) it was the last one in this particular row when I got to it it was about 10 inches from the wall and about 10 inches from the car next to it !
For it to be driven probably 20 cars would have to be moved .....
I'm so glad it ended up with its present owner :)
This is why old pictures you have posted make me so happy ....
