There was an alternate solution to the GPF?

Yes I believe a different induction system would not require GPF.

Its not "fake" but certainly not pure. To me pure sound comes straight out the exhaust. It has been artificially routed to the passenger compartment to give it a more traditional Ferrari recognizable sound. This has been the pattern as the ICE engine gets increasingly diminished until ultimately replaced.

An injection system. Still, pros and cons.

Some would say that it comes out of the engine, not the exhaust...

Yes, for a V12, sound from the engine also plays an important role. More than exhaust sound actually.

The engine is a pump. Air in and air out. The roar and shriek is bellowed out the exhaust. But I agree the machine of an ICE engine is the true source of the sound especially at extreme revs. Sound tubes routing exhaust noise through a membrane and amplified is most definitely not pure.

I guess you are not familiar with induction sound then. Try this: Pop the bonnet of a V12, stand in front of it and have someone rev the engine for you. You 'll get to savour the engine sound, instead of the exhaust. ;)

On the contrary, I am quite a fan! The best part of my F12 is the massive induction sound right at the dashboard. From the cockpit it is my favorite part. From the outside its the roar and scream through the exhaust.

Well, not exactly. If you stand by the start-finish straight at a track day you will first hear the engine of the approaching Ferrari V12 and only when it passes by you get to hear the exhaust sound.

Incorrect. The sound change is mainly Doppler effect. The underlying sound (as hear when walking from front to back of a car is still the same mix of engine, transmission and exhaust noise.
