Great comments. I think most of us have to acknowledge the courage (and foresight) that Porsche has shown in pushing ahead with the development and production of the Taycan. Regardless of how we all feel about the coming electric age, it IS coming. Ferrari will have to have a similar product range in that space as Porsche is planning. The sooner they get on with that program, the better.

No doubt, in my opinion this is the most beautiful Ferrari in decades. In terms of elegance, it gives me the best "wow effect" since Ferrari 456 in 1992.

I though the possible Portofino facelift would be just a cosmetic update and keep it positioned under Roma. But then on, maybe there is no need to. Perhaps it could get Roma's 620 hp engine and 8-speed gearbox as well. If this happens, maybe Ferrari also opts for a higher price tag to avoid annoying 1st generation Portofino owners. It would still be a bit slower car than Roma due to extra weight and higher center of gravity (due to roof mechanism). One option is that it only gets the 8-speed gearbox which potentially allows for better co2 emissions.

Portofino is still a great looking car and there is no need for a heavy redesign of overall shape.

Ok. I see. It was just a reflection of grille that gave an impression of lights/sensors within the stripe.

I seem to have problem deciding what to expect from possible Portofino facelift... :)

Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Enrico Galliera made this comment at the Roma launch (November 2019):
“2020 will be a year of consolidation for us, we want to make sure that our clients understood the market positioning of all the models we launched this year.”

Based on above comment, I think Roma is supposed to maintain its position above Portofino. if you compare Portofino and Roma side by side, Roma is definitely a sleeker one and gives a more luxurious impression. Both cars have probably a pretty similar manufacturing costs (Portofino's roof mechanism may be actually more expensive than Roma's updated internals). But Ferrari is likely trying to get more profit from Roma per manufactured car, relying on its better performance and sleeker looks. I think they also want to give the Roma a status of not being an entry level Ferrari. Therefore I suspect Portofino facelift isn't going to get internals updated to the Roma level. But in the end, I guess only time will tell.

I also seem to have a problem chosing between the F8 and the Roma.
I have placed an order for the F8 tributo few months ago and delivery is expected in July.
I am considering changing my order for the Roma in order to enjoy the car with my wife and my 3yo son.
I love the retro elegant design of the roma, but as i just sold my 488GTB, i'm afraid i will disappointed if i don't opt for a more powerful car and it's complicated for the moment to buy both cars.
If anyone has an experience of that kind or an advice to share, will be more than welcome!

    I will opt for Roma
    the looks works for me,
    Although f8 looks amazing, also.
But just an idea that I can take a par of my kids with me is the most important .
lusso is just to big for me, also not found of how it looks .
    Hope this helps :)

FWIW, if I had to have only one of the three Ferraris I've owned, it would be my 360 sunroof/stick, by a mile. BUT, I do in fact miss my old 456M. But it was an automatic.

May have found an unloved 456M manual. Still investigating. It would be the perfect compliment to the 360.

Honestly, I would rather have a 456M manual than a 575M manual, because of those back seats. Sorted AC on that car is actually cold. My guitars fit in the back seats.

Such a beauty, especially the nose.

Is it the addition of shields that now give otherwise somewhat bland sides a bit more personality? Or is it just the additional shadows in the picture?

At least it now looks more Ferrari than Aston.

Keep your F8 order, and while waiting for delivery, you can find your sweet little family a pre-owned Aston DB9 or you can even go for the bigger one "the Rapide", both are very cheep these days, and probably you will get yourself a very good deal! as low as €95,000 !!! And as I can see you live in Brussels! Check these: 2013 DB9 COUPE and 2010 RAPIDE COUPE
