I'm not sure about the 488, but as long as Ferrari is still using the baby smart system then any of the sensors will work.

Pitty to report to you that the AKSE of Mecedes Benz is not working in my 458 !

You can see the check of the ECUs if the airbag is in working order (top foto).

It shows no change in the system when my (in the Benz perfect working) AKSE is placed on the seat like a childs seat.

Anyone else have a working system ? ?

I'm getting a 488 spider and the manual available on the owner's site specifically prohibits children in the car. Thoughts?

I use the Mercedes Benz baby smart car seat it works fine. I used it in my SL65 for about 4 years with no issues or ticket. Before I even attempted to put my daughter in the passenger I made sure to check with both the service and sales manager also my sales rep about putting my son in a 2 seat convertible, using the baby smart Mercedes car seat in the passenger seat. They specifically told me that the car seat was made for front passenger car seats. The car seat laches onto the carbon fiber racing seats perfectly 100% perfect fit, And yes it turns of the air bag in the 458 Italia. I have had cops drive by look over and never had a problem. Picture below and link to a used one for 100.00 below hope it helps. My son loves being my passenger hahaha.

Wow guess that means either you can't turn it off or there's no passenger air bag?

Picking up on a old thread here but I guess the conclusion for us in EU is that we need to convince our delar / tech to disable the pass airbag as this seems to be the only way?
