I am having my new 812 wrapped with Xpel PPF. My detail guy says that the wrap only comes with maximum size of 6 ft and since the hood is longer than that he would have to use two pieces and there would be a seam. He says some detailers stretch the film to cover the hood but that can make some parts of the film weak. Has anyone run into this? Any thoughts or experience on this appreciated.

I got mine done like that before but they came out with 72 inches film in early 2019 so you can cover with 1 piece.

My 812 was done with Suntek and doesn’t have seams on the hood. My previous F12 was Xpel and had exposed notches in the far corners of the hood. Go Suntek. The seams and notches are an imperfect workaround.

I"ll check Suntek. I think Xpel doesn't make the 72 inch ones quite yet. Thanks guys.
