The house looks to be largely unchanged Christian. It can be viewed on the cached pages of On The Market's website from when it was last for sale in 2018. The garage/showroom still retains it's glazed sliding doors. What a refeshing look into the past in what were much less conspicuous consumption times. With the fantastic level of investment required in main dealerships these days it is fascinating to see a business literally being operated out of a home garage.

As a fellow Stewart from Perthshire, and of similar vintage age wise I suspect to yourself, I well remember Grassicks BMW dealership in St Leonard's Street Perth. They have a photo of their old premises on their website and you can see the Ferrari Service sign on the exterior wall.

I wonder if Martin Walter ever converted a Dino into a Dormobile which was the type of light van based motor-home in which they specialised at the time !!

Yes, that was us selling it after our father's passing.

Great picture of Grassicks. Still going strong, albeit at a different location. I just had a BMW serviced there today!

The Canadian 1975 365 GT/4 BB models didn't have mirrors when on the floor at Yonge Steeles Motors in Willowdale Ontario either.

    http://www.ferraribyneillbruce.co.uk/Ferrari%20Factory%20in%201973.pdf

These photographs may be well known, but if not, worth a look. There was a factory visit in 1973 for the dealers organised by Maranello Concessionaires which fortunately was photographed by Neill Bruce.

Dad recalled talking with Enzo Ferrari, although in French, as he didn't speak English and my father didn't speak Italian. Peter Collins had been a close friend of his and Ferrari knew of Dad from his motor racing career.

At Fiorano a Daytona was available to use, although after a few laps the very low odometer reading gave cause for concern. Was this due to be a customer's car? Very likely....

Timeless photos by Mr Bruce, thanks once again for sharing those. Interesting the assembly line showed no badges except the dino insignia, however at the service station in modena i can just make out a prancing horse on the back! mmmm

Is that the dino prancing horse or the Ferrari prancing horse? :)

I've got nothing on the Dinos yet, but the Daytona is s/n 12841. Great to have such an early photo showing proper Rosso Bordeaux Dino. Unfortunately, quite a few cars originally painted in this hue have been resprayed in something more akin to Rosso Rubino. Evidently too many people see the word 'Bordeaux' and their mind goes to red wine.

Nothing to do with Dinos, I am afraid, but in view of where you live, Christian, you may be amused to see a photo of an old jar I have had kicking around the house for the last 30+ years. Indeed, you may be able to enlighten me as to its history?

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't a clue! I know a bit about local history, but the name doesn't ring any bells, nor are there any families that I know of in the area with the same name. I will do some digging...

Christian, what a wonderfully interesting and helpful thread. I actually managed to contact your Father a few years ago when researching the history of my Dino (05398) and he sent me some copies of documents he had. He must have been a lovely man to be so helpful to a stranger sending a message out of the blue.

Did the Colonel or Dealers such as your Father have a deal with the DVLA because a lot of Ferraris in the 60s and 70s original registration numbers seem to be single digit ones?
