Unbelievable design. There hasn't been anything this cool in ages.
So with average trickle down technology, how long before we can get this engine in a DB, AMG, or something like that??
The irony to me is that all the engineering only does one thing to this car, make it an even bigger poser vehicle. It looks extremely uncomfortable, no luggage space whatsoever, very low riding, non road legal in the US etc etc. I can't imagine anyone wanting to drive this on the road for more than 20-30 mins. The only thing I like about this car is the engine.
It's a race car for the road Sorry I don't see any tour de force in it. T50 is a lot more realistic to me.
I like that livery a lot oddly enough. Up until then I thought all other liveries shown were ugly except the initial silver car with aero disc wheel covers. Per JWW's interview with AM, all customers are doing custom colors and designs and no one using the standard silver. I think most will end up ugly because of that even though I think the car looks great otherwise. The AMG One looks too kit-car and this is full on LMP.
On Insta, the owner of the F1 GTR said he cancelled his order bc specs are not what they promised and 2 years late. Anyone knows the final specs? Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's interesting to see. Maybe he thinks Aston will fail to deliver because of their balance sheet issues? I wonder what exactly they promised initially they are not anymore...
I mean, it looks and sounds like pretty much what I've always heard it was supposed to be. Not sure what he thought/was told it would be.
This project is far too extreme for road use. Red Bull and Newey could deliver very competitive single seaters but translating this into a usable road car is a completely different game.
I mean it looked too extreme for road use from the beginning so I'm not sure what changed in the interval that made the prospective buyer give up his slot. This isn't meant to be a grocery getter or some regular Aston to go to the golf club in. That F1 owner is an F1 GTR owner so he literally drives a race car on the road so I think it's something different.
He didn't say anything about looks or sound. The quote is "The *spec* is far removed from what we signed up to." That said, curious what the before and after specs presented were - either he's exaggerating/wrong or it's true.
How is that? Were they not all allocated to customers anyway or were some left open for dealers to try to get customers?
I think this is the best of the next gen hypercars. its great looking and has normal street tech with that na v12. amg 1 is totally crazy with hybrid 4 cyl. and the fan on the Gordon murray car is not my cup tea either. the scg cars use off the shelf motors and don't seem like theyre ever going to be real. im sure Valkyrie is going to be much more usable on street than old hyper cars like f40 and even enzo while having exponential more performance
I'm guessing an owner of a dealership is viewed both as a customer and as a re-seller. I heard of a dealer who was not interested in something he couldn't get into.
That makes sense. I hope they make the entire run and not cut it short like the McLaren F1 was even though they claim right now all slots are taken.
guess is something to do with the hybrid system and the AWD. Still don’t think final details on either have emerged.
ummm, yeah, ok, except SCG 003, built and raced = real. SCG Boot, built and raced = real. SCG 004 will be on track in a matter of weeks and will race in the 24 Hours Nürburgring in May. Customer 003's and Boots are being built and 004's will follow. Seems pretty real. SCG 004C real build progress https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10157773496437348&set=pcb.10157773496612348&type=3&theater SCG 007 Le Mans LMP1 Hypercar is well along in design.
