That must have been quite the ride when the plane swung back to center. Good job to the crew for keeping everything cool.

Man the A380 has a massive vertical stabilizer. That thing looks like it's taller than a 10 story building.

And there's no dishonor in choosing to do a go-around.

Never flown the Bus but i guess it is quite ok to land fully crabbed into wind then straighten up before the nose wheel makes contact, just like the good 'ol 747 can.

    Good job!

Agree.... so I looked it up.
It's about 8 stories (80 feet) from the ground.

Hope it's glued on better than their A320 series are....

I have sat in the very last upper deck row of the A380 a couple of times (IMO, one of the best coach seats because its only 3 wide and you can get out going down the stairs right behind you).

BUT -- it really moves around in turbulence and during landing as the plane rotates around the CG. I imagine those people in the back were really pulled and pushed around!

I once had a landing at PHL in a Delta 767 where we approached the runway at about a 30 degree angle; I could see it out of my left side coach-seat window until we were just about over it. The inboard ailerons were flapping like crazy as the pilot tried to keep the wings level. Once over the runway, he kicked left rudder and put the aircraft down, but we were slewing all over the runway as we decelerated.
