Image Unavailable, Please Login Not sure you can tell, but this is with the spaced installed. I guess the point of the spacer is to stop the seal crushing the bearing when you torque is all down.
Thorn. You are correct. The vice idea was a bit crap. In my defense I did have a piece of solid metal between the seal and the vice so that it would (try) achieve an even pressure around the seal..... it popped right in there, so all good.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Here it is with the nut and washer. I read it should be tightened to 15ft lb and then backed off to 11 ft lbs. Hope this is correct. It does not seem to be very tight ...

I thought originally that only one side was broken but both sides are..... there was a discussion on this earlier. There is another thread....let me see if I can find it.
