The twin (prop) is a Beech Duke (as noted in post #590).

    Rob,

That sure doesn't look like a 55 year old Comanche. Congrats, you have kept it looking like new. I'll bet the avionics are state of the art too.

Thank you. The Clipper and Pacer airframes were later made into the tir-gear versions. The vagabond is very similar though.

I didn't do the air show flying of the clown plane. I was the sole parent of four boys then and my partner, Chuck Driskell was the show pilot. I flew the L-3 in the antique flights. I flew the clown plane Champ several times but just around the pea patch. A lot of fun.

That is a beautiful little airplane! You are fortunate. A 180 Lyc.? I'll bet that is fun to fly. Flew one once and tried everything I could and it didn't bite me too bad.

STAY TUNED and watch for the June issue of Air Classics. You might see something of interest that you will recognize.

When I was 17 and and a 135lb long distance runner it took 2 hands and 100% effort to snap roll a 180hp Decathalon. Very hard to get bitten. My first airplane with the ‘single’ wheel on the proper end. Great fun!
