Received letter below from Ferrari today and wanted to share , as a lot of members make the trip to spec their cars or just take an owners tour of the factory! It even affects factory training visits, so you know they are taking it serious!

    Dear all,

Please be informed that in the current scenario, Ferrari has implemented a set
of measures to manage the Coronavirus alert. One of these includes the
suspension of external visits to the Company’s campus until further notice.
Clients affected will be those booked for Atelier and Tailor Made
configuration, while also Factory Tours as well as Academy Trainings in
Maranello will be concerned. All such meetings are immediately suspended.
As a consequence please instruct the network to inform their own clients using
the text indicated below , to be personalized relative to the specific type of
    appointment.

    Enrico Galliera

Senior Vice President for Commercial and Marketing
    Ferrari S.p.a.

Keep an eye out for the letter below from your scheduling Dealer:

    Dear . . . . .

replanned. We will provide you with a revised date for your visit in Ferrari as
    soon as possible.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

A definite downer for all those that booked trips, but understandable in the grand scheme of things

Extremely useful. Thank you very much for taking the time to share it with us, Steve.

This virus is set to have a major economic impact. In the end, it’s not Ferrari’s fault, as most national governments are implementing different measures, recommendations and policies in order to contain the outbreak as much as possible.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Sorry to hear this for those with trips booked.

The Geneva motor show will probably get cancelled as well.

Do you know whether the virus is having any impact on production. My order for a Portofino went in in January and the dealer said I should get the car in April/May as he had a slot reserved.

I do not, though I have not heard anything about the factory operations shutting down, no reason for that IMO.

They are just limiting the outside factors that tours and owner visits from all over the world introduce.

Thanks for the heads up, Steve. A group of us are planning on a week in Maranello with FoA in September. Hopefully this will be over by then.

I Received the same communication the day before my factory tour (this past Tuesday). Luckily, I didn’t have to drive 3 hours to Maranello to find out it was cancelled. I was already in Italy for other family reasons but I had to cut my trip short due to these news. Bad timing, I guess. I will book it again In one of my next trips to Italy.

Ouch! Thank you for the heads up.

Think they will create a virtual tour of sorts to salvage the work and commitment put in to the event already?

I had heard a little earlier that Switzerland was banning meetings exceeding 1000 participants. So that it was possible to still continue the show with limited participation. However, I think Marcel's post trumps that news.

Very very sad, am having withdrawal symptoms already: an annual pilgrimage, the only time of year I look at new modern cars (focused on classics) a fantastic show...argh....

This cancellation might be the final kill for the Geneva motor show (2021 and future). Like all the the other car shows (incl. Frankfurt, etc.) Geneva was massively struggling.

Ouch did not know that...and just read that due to major car shows loss of popularity (before Coronavirus came into the picture) the Frankfurt show will no longer take place in its traditional form... paradigm shift...not sure I like this new decade...

Marcel, I always thought the Geneva show was the creme de la creme of auto shows. I was surprised when I read your post. What is the reason for this decline?
