    New Old Fitz is out.

Their releases always bottom out at very good and top out at excellent, but they do tend to be inconsistent. Often the lesser aged ones are better than the older ones. Interested to see how the 15 is as their oldest release to date.

Hey guys this is my first post in this section and I was wondering what the consensus is on this? While I’ve had my fair share of Jack and coke over the years this is my first bottle of Makers Mark. It was a gift for Christmas.

Maker's is a nice baseline wheated bourbon. I've not had the Holiday Edition you've posted here but I have enjoyed a Maker's 46 Private Select store pick that was fantastic.

If you ever go to Kentucky I recommend the Maker's tour, neat place.

I passed through Kentucky over the summer, wish I had known. I just recently started looking through this section to get ideas on other Bourbons to try.

My favorite is Stagg Jr. It's pretty hard to find, as all allocated bourbons are now, but it's pretty special. Cask strength, thick and syrupy mouthfeel with a taste of cherry cola at first followed by caramel and more. Lookout for some and try it over a couple ice cubes.

Running errands yesterday and stopped by a local place for Stagg, Jr. They had it... so I asked do you have any Stagg? Yep. One bottle just came in. Ok, I’ll take it. So... What else do you have? He was quiet then said a 12 Pappy (I guess technically a Van Winkle). So I got that one two. I didn’t get the Jr.

Dont know anything about these but my dad bought these all those years ago and never opened them. He's a beer guy. So I will be cracking one of them open later tonight. One I believe was bottled in 1977 and the other 1986.

Apologies for the delay responding. The Christmas version is the same as their normal MM bottle; aged about 6 years, and a 70% corn, 16% wheat and 14% barley malt mash bill (different than a lot of their regional competitors, since they don't use rye). Lots of fans for MM, if you like it, you'll also probably like Wellers, which is also a heated whiskey. The Christmas bottle is unique, but inside it's what you'd get in their normal bottling.

Damn spellcheck - wheated whiskey, not heated whiskey (although they do heat the mash lol). Bob H

That kind of day. Stopped by my local shop... Not sure what to do with the White Dog, but it looked interesting. No problem with the Jr.

I don't drink much brown liquor at all but the Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye is very enjoyable.

WP just released this entry level Rye ... it is really different but really good.
Might be added to the McKenna 10 and Heaven Hill 7 in my sub $100 daily drinker rotation.

    Recommend at least a try,.
