Automobile manufacturers (and all the super clever and well educated 18 to 25 year young kids working there in the marketing departments) think they have now found new ways/channels to promote their products. Social media and individual customer events.
Besides that, owning a car is not so much important anymore. Public transport and car sharing etc is extremely popular and the younger generation simply do not want to make a drivers license anymore (they don't need one!) as they go uber and other similar companies. And all the new laws and restrictions (noise, pollution, environmental issues), especially in Europe, do not motivate people to buy, own and drive a car. Think carpooling, bike lanes, subways, trains, buses, etc.

The above is so true today. In my young days 16 years old drivers license as soon as possible!! My MIL, WWII
Italian war bride talked to her nephew in Milan yesterday. He told her it was not a big deal over there. Hopefully the news media is looking for viewership!!

Can confirm. I had a tour scheduled in two weeks that is now canceled. Luckily our travel plans are pretty flexible and we will still have a good trip, albeit to a different area. Not what we planned, but any time with friends and family will be good times. I hope this virus is wiped out soon and the world can move on. Best wishes to all who are affected!!
