I found out today I have an April or May Convertible build depending on allocations the dealer will get in March. I believe the first Verts will start April 4. My understanding is that the first cars on the trailers now to the dealers. My latest thinking.... good for desert driving.
When you do the side scoops the rear vents are also the same color, the front has some extra paint, and the top engine vent is also the same color. You cannot select them separately. All three are together. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Spoke to the GM Concierge this morning and they said my car has not been built yet but that its scheduled to be built sometime before the week ends. So it could have been built today or it will get built on Thursday or Friday. I am going to check again tomorrow, but its close to having a birthday
I am target production week 3/9- confirmed status 3400. As posted, they started shipping cars last night.
My C8 Corvette has a birthday! It was built yesterday 3-5-20 Image Unavailable, Please Login It won't be long now before I am driving it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
What color is that? Silver? I ordered Silver. That rear wing is dealer installed so it might take a day or two for you to get it once its delivered. Apparently the entire rear bumper has to be removed and replaced. My understanding now is they are having trouble getting enough transport trucks. The hold at the factory was longer than expected or they made them faster than they though. For whatever reason, the factory has a crap load of them and they are still cranking them out as fast as they can.
Jump to 20:00 for first driving impression and to skip most of the youtuber bs. He is very excited about his car. He LOVES Corvettes, has owned multiple C7's. For context, this guy owns a 1,000 hp C7 ZR1, owned a McLaren 570, 600LT and 900 hp 720S (did vid going 213 mph). I guarantee the next vid will include shredding the tires. I don't know I've seen any black car with yellow calipers before. He said he's getting new wheels already.
Finalized the paperwork and spec confirmation today and the salesman submitted it into the GM system. Hopefully it will be accepted by GM next week. The last change I made was to add the lower body in black and make the seat belts black with the tan interior. I plan to get some Llloyds mats in black and replace the tan carpet as I'm sure it will get dirty.
The color is Arctic White. Yeah I know the dealer has to install the high wing, they said they can do it one day so not a big deal. Mine is built and in the lot so its just a matter of time as they catch up on deliveries as they have a back log of them to do for sure. My dealer said they have not yet received any of their orders yet and they have some cars that were built on 2/10 but they expect them to start arriving soon.
Seems like a lot of the first batch were white. They look pretty awesome. Kerbeck got its first cars today. Seems over 50% are white or ceramic gray.
Wow I configured a coupe in the same colors . Dealer called Friday. Wants final build by Monday. I really wanted a 360CS or 16M but those are triple the price and obviously no warranty. I think I could drive a C8 for a year and sell it for what was paid if I dont go nuts on options. LT1 with Z51 and these colors. I also like the ceramic white with red interior and red exterior accents including front fender stripes. Cheapo build but Z51 is important IMO. Decisions decisions.
Should see them roaming around Long Island very shortly. Maybe even tomorrow as they are predicting 65° temps. What a perfect way to start daylight savings time.
Think they batched some colors- at least that is my impression as people had TPW assigned and then altered.
The Corvette forum had a thread on how C8s are transported. They go by both truck and train, depending on distance. The first trip out of BG is always by truck. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good info. My C7 took 8 days (so less then 2 weeks total) to get here, so really quick from BG to Los Angeles.
