So with my last service my mechanic noticed that my air intake hoses were starting to crack on both sides. Something I don’t think I would of ever noticed. Not too expensive at all. Got mine from Eurospares. $100 each from Ricambi (before discount) $55 each from Euro ~ 45 from eBay (claims they are brand new) All prices before tax and shipping. Could you please provide some more details? Year, mileage, environment? This is the first time I’ve seen that, so curious if I should put those in my preventative maintenance list.
I had my (18k miles) 360 air boxes apart a few weeks ago and the rubber literally looked brand new. I know it's original. It's amazing how things age differently. I suspect your car was subject to some odd condition like too much ozone or too much heat at some point. Is the rest of the rubber on your car in good shape or do you see deterioration in other places? The rubber on my car is so surprisingly supple and flexible that it looks like every bit was replaced. The car is entirely original. My car has led a very good life.
