Sebring is on my bucket list. Was really hoping this would be the year I finally made it. Will be watching from home instead.
Those going to Sebring...some of the better turns to check out are: T17 outside at track out. Watch them catch air at the bump. There are grandstands to sit in. T2-5 There are grass mounds to walk up on and watch T7 outside by hotel. At night this is great to see the glowing rotors and this is a good passing section T17 at turn in. You get a good feeling of speed and watch them start to bounce over the bumps.
On Thursday there is a Hall of Fame Ceremony with the induction of Bruce McLaren, (posthumously), Lyn St. James, Dick Barbour, and Janet Guthrie. Saturday the WEC cars from Europe complete in a 1000 miles of Sebring and last year it went 8 hours at 253 laps.
problem is I don't know how Imsa is going to reschedule if they drop the 12 hours too. they have 3 events between now and then end of May, then LeMans, then Florida has 5 months of heat/humidity/hurricane season. WEC already replaced Brazil with COTA, another disruption/cancellation to the schedule makes them look like the amateur hour clown show that the probably are.
Great news for Lyn, spoke with her several times many years ago and almost got her invited to a motorsport show in Tokyo: a lady racing driver in Japan in 1992 would have been quite a sensation, she relished the idea but it wasn't possible in the end. On Sebring: a lot of people misunderstood and confuse the cancelled WEC race with the 12 hours which are still on so a lot of rumor correction will be necessary for the next week in this age of dis------information...

The rescheduled race will now become the season-ending event of the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and will be run Nov. 11-14 at Sebring International Raceway. The weekend will also feature the rescheduled IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge – Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 and the IMSA Prototype Challenge season-ending races. The annual WeatherTech Night of Champions awards banquet will take place on Nov. 15 at the Seven Sebring Raceway Hotel. In addition, the season-ending Championship Awards for both the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and IMSA Prototype Challenge will be held in conjunction with the Sebring race event weekend. Previously purchased 2020 admission tickets and parking will be honored at the above rescheduled Sebring International Raceway event.
'Haven't checked....how long after Petit will the 12 be? Prep time for Sebring? That's two enduros dang close together, no?
Sebring will take place of the Michelin Encore that was already scheduled for Sebring at that time anyway.
