That video really captures the beauty of Roma. The contrast between Roma and 812 GTS is huge. Roma is like a supermodel with a compact rear. I guess that alone is a valid reason for going after Roma instead of F12.

I have to say Ferrari did an Aston Martin, but at the same time they also made a more beautiful car than Aston has ever made.

It is an interesting episode what lead to this. I guess it has something to do with Aston now trying to eclipse Ferrari from its V12 throne with their Valkyrie project. Also, I think someone at Ferrari saw "007 Spectre" and though: "Well, that Aston DB10 is a fine looking car!". When Aston decided to manufacture only 10 of these, maybe Ferrari realized that Aston was wasting a huge potential. Ferrari then went on to build their own, even more elegant Bond car. On top of that, the marketing video of Roma is straight out of Spectre where the car chase scene "incidentally" happens in Roma too!

I agree, but I think for the CF shields it depends on the color. I have seen CF shields on black and white, in the flesh, and it looked good IMO. I have seen it also on yellow, red and gray - admittedly in pics only - and it was not to my taste. Given the size of the flanks of the Roma, maybe the larger painted shields is the way to go?

Does anyone know whether the mobile rear spoiler always activates when hitting 100 km/h? Or is there a manettino mode where the spoiler remains down? I would prefer it to stay down in normal highway cruising.

Saw the Roma at the dealer yesterday. He has it for two days. Er...…...…..the rear looks wonderful, the side view pretty good but the front...……...YUK. Just my opinion, of course

My wife has repeatedly told me that she dislikes the front end. That surprised me given the less aggressive, arguably more feminine overall design.

It's almost got a little bit of BMW Z4 look to it.... definitely more feminine. But I think it's beautiful... better than the Portofino.

Did you get to sit in it? If so, your thoughts on the interior layout?

The interior is rather good. The dash is all screen, so even the rev counter is a screen. Many will growl about that. Most important is that there is a large area IN the rev counter to show the speed. That is GREAT as you do not have to sacrifice one screen to get a large digital speedometer like in the Portofino (the permanent digital readout is too small in the P). Rest of the interior looks good but again, all screen. Could not play with the controls so do not know how responsive the screen will be.

The front is aggressive and more masculine than rest of the car. Does that explain it?

If you say so. I don’t find it particularly masculine.

I actually like the Roma front-to-rear so no dog in the fight. But I believe Ferrari designed it as a softer, less hardcore, more approachable model? That sounds sorta like they are hoping it appeals to women.
