The upcoming Villa d'Este Concours scheduled for 22-24 May 2020 might be cancelled as well.
Here is part of an information sent to one of the selected participants

    "Dear Mr. X,

In view of the current situation in Italy, we believe it is appropriate to give you a brief update on preparations for the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The Organisation Team of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is monitoring new developments in connection with the coronavirus in Italy very carefully and will continue to do so. We are also monitoring the travel advice issued by the foreign offices of various governments.

Nevertheless, the Organisation Team will decide at the latest by the end of March whether this year’s edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este can take place as planned, has to be postponed or indeed cancelled. If this is the case, we will notify you without delay and the participation fee will be reimbursed completely.
However, any additional costs will not be covered.
Current information on the coronavirus in general and up-to-date information can be found here: WHO
In case of any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us anytime.
    With kind regards,
    Your Organisation Team
    Guest Relations
    Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este"

So the organisers say that "by end of March" a decision will be communicated.
On the other hand, a direct VDE source I contacted today, told me that tomorrow Friday 20th March 2020 an official announcement will follow.

    Marcel,
I just got word that the every ten-year Passion Play in Oberammergau has been postponed until 2022. Is this the first time in 420 years the play has been cancelled?

As we say in West Texas: "Now this is getting plumb serious"

I can imagine that the Mille Miglia could be cancelled--if it has not already be done.

    Anyone know??

If it hasn’t it will be. There was a piece on the news tonight that Brescia is one of the worst hit towns in Italy

I do think it is presumptious to set reschedule dates in the light how things are progressing.

Italy is struggling and the USA, is just as bad. JMO

    It is about money.
Imagine participants who months ago have already paid their fees.
Organisers are trying to not send that money back.
