Aim would be to keep the car for 10+ years, enjoy it and then sell on. So in the long run it'll all even out anyway. But I like to know what I'm getting myself into and I feel I'm just not clear on what is wrong with the car. Dealer says his two technician (Second test), think the car is a good example and not to worry about the engine, they think the results are ok.
There is a conflict of interest in this statement from the dealer. However, unless you are willing to spend money ripping it apart, there is no clear way to tell what is wrong with the engine. In my opinion, there is something not optimal about that one cylinder but … it is not beyond saving. You are not buying a brand new car, there is no perfection. Tell you what, since you have not pulled the trigger on this, it means the car is 1) not meant for you, 2) it does not pull at your heart. Why don't you move on. There are other cars out there.
After looking for over a year and walked away from numerous cars, I'm starting to think my expectations are too high. I'm after a specific spec, which is massively limiting my choice. I'm after a GTB 5.2, with a none standard colour, so not red or yellow and with a contrast interior say tan. Hence way i'm on the fence.
Interesting point, changing colour does devalue a car though. You could wrap it, but that seems a little cheap for a F355. C
I agree with Mitchell, he has seen a lot more cars than me but I know of at least 5 cars owned by people on here where there numbers are much more consistent. It’s the consistency that concerns me. In light of what is going on if he truly believes that ask him for a 5000 store credit over 5 years and if you need no parts for your car then it cost him and you nothing. I feel they are wrong but only too a point since my sample is so small. This is why I have stated the above, another way too put it is I agree with them but only 94% the other 6% X 80k is 5 grand. Within these 5 years you will likely be doing a engine out and if you find anything major you have 5k credit to use from them. Just my 2c
