In search of an OEM (original part number: 113401) Testarossa fuel cap. I missed an opportunity to buy one for 30 bucks and I’m kicking myself now. Anyone have a spare, or know where to acquire one? The ones on eBay now are priced above what I’m willing to pay for a cap. Any help appreciated. Car is a 1990 Testarossa
The one fuel cap i've left at at gas station in my whole life was the one for my TR - i has so p'd off. I ended up buying one of these, looks good and works fine. https://mrfiat.com/fiat-850-124-fuel-tank-cap.html
Have you checked these options: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/141578125 The one TRCo posted is more like the 101453 style used on early 308, but not quite the same (but would fit). See also this thread: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/fuel-cap-308-gtb.451358
Yes sir, I did reference those threads you mentioned and have been looking for the Fiat part also as an alternative. Was hoping another member here on the forum might have an OEM spare from a Testarossa they would part with. I do have my eye on a Fiat alternative but before I pulled the trigger on that one, I figured I’d give this forum a try. Thank you for the info! Every lead helps.
You didn't mention any of that in your post, and I'm not a mind-reader It does seem that a new vintage Fiat cap is that different style -- perhaps some US junkyard specializing in Fiats/Imports might be your only possible low-cost source for the TR style.
I know that this cap is not original to the car, but this was on my Testarossa when I bought it. I switched it back to stock. I no longer have the Testarossa but still have this cap. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I actually took off the black plastic OE cap on my 89 328 GTS and upgraded it to the aluminum “FerrarI” cap above (which is on the 512TR). Having the option and not being a total purist who would ever want the cheap plain black plastic cap when the nicer aluminum cap fits.
I’ve got one of those, but I don’t like how it orientates with the ‘Ferrari’ print. Plus, I am sort of a purist with this car... Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The TR fuel cap looks like one that could be machined from plastic and bead blasted to look original (I'm a machinist and manufacturer so speaking from experience), I would bring some pics to a machine shop that works in plastic, maybe $300? Don't tell them its for a ferrari
My TR had the aluminum cap when I bought it. The original cap did not come with it. Keep in mind, because of the placement of it, if the car is at operating temperature the surface temperature of the cap will be hot. Mine got to about 140 degrees. I have measured it. So you will burn your hand unless you used a rag or something to open it. You can see a picture in this link when I talked about it a few years back. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/tr-gas-cap.501155/

Not the correct cap. Pictures are for a different part. Even the Lancia part is NLA and is superseded to a different part.
Not sure what you mean. Are you saying the one Basal Skull posted is wrong? The Fiat and Lancia part number are the same.
To clarify - if you're talking about what pops up first when you google that part nr - forget that. There are plenty of correct NOS 4305673 ones around, like the one Basal Skull posted.
Did take a bit to find. I bought the last one from this particular vendor. They have it as an oil cap and had to look on Italian eBay. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
OEM F cap 1st, Lancia 2nd. Very close, but easily distinguishable up close. The Lancia cap was sold by the various F parts dealers though. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
