I received my shipping and delivery receipt from Jack Cooper Transportation who handles all of the deliveries out of the Bowling Green Assembly Plant and my car reached the Kansas City General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant on Friday March 20th. From there its loaded onto a train headed to the Union Pacific Milpitas Yard in Milpitas Ca. My dealer contacted me yesterday and is working on logistics for getting the car and arranging pick up/delivery but with the current lock down not sure how its going to go but its getting here soon.
I would think the car is probably on a train by now and in motion west. The biggest uncertainty is whether the lockdown will prevent the dealer from having enough employees on site to take custody.
My build is white with dual carbon flash racing stripes 3LT with just about every option except the carbon fiber ground effect kit which I had but they removed along with everyone else. Not yet, being in California with the lockdown is making it much more challenging for the dealer especially since it went by train for the final leg of the journey and they have to work out getting it from the train yard to the dealer. Hopefully soon but I have waited this long so a little longer is a bummer but not the end of the world. Glad you you got yours and are able to enjoy it
Jeff, It will be fun to see your report once you get the car. I was number 3 on the list for a convertible C8 at Boardwalk Chevrolet, in Redwood City. After working out my order, I decided to cancel and get my deposit back, opting for a 2017 California T. I had a C7 Z06, loved the power of that car, but I just wanted to try a Ferrari, While I love the T, there is still apart of me that wanted to one of the first to experience the excitement of the C8. Please keep us informed.
Mine came by train from Kansas City KS to Phoenix. It was built on Feb 24th and was shipped to the train yard on March 13th. just arrived on March 27th! A slow train for sure.
The dealer called today and they have my car! They are working to get the pdi done and high wing installed and will confirm tomorrow morning and I plan to pick it up this Saturday.
