    The same here

Same here, but only one of the family at a time can go out for food, never mind who is. Good luck to you at New York, another plagued state like we are here.

Italian doctors know everything about masks: the problem is they are running out or already run out of availability. Usually a family doctor here doesn't wear any mask, only dental care ones use them. Almost 45 doctors already died here.

That's correct, but they are all not enough against a virus.

    Ciao

Today, a new record of 919 fatalities here in Italy. New infected are almost 6k, that's look to be the average number in the last week. It's not getting worse, but not better too.

    ciao

I work, but still with a very slow productivity: I'm not enough focused on my tasks. This situation stresses me a lot.

I think my useful work hours now are no more than 2-4 a day instead of 7-9 as usual

    Ciao

I believe you it is stressful, but its ok to work a little instead of a lot right now. At least maybe it takes your mind off of this for a little while. If not maybe its safer to be home. God bless

In NY we are bracing ourselves for the apex which is supposed to hit us in the the next two weeks.

8000+ doctors and paramedics infected, 55 doctors already died.

increasing rate slowed down and stable, but still high: +4k also today

But here we are seeing that (forget about numbers, they are son of what happend 10-15 days ago) the Italian Medical Sysytem is facing every day better this disaster, tuning the correct way to fight the virus. They are giving power and rights to the "family doctors" to start the terapy and speeding up the diagnosys and survellance. We see they are now attacking in the right way this disease: I think that going up this way they set up only some days ago we will win the battle. It took some time to our medical system learning how to manage all this mess, but medicians now are organizing medical care much better than before, starting the disease attackin much before than earlier: this probably will save much lifes. I see that, and this is a very big step forward.

    ciao

@Albert-LP your observation is correct. We are hearing it here in NY. Following the trends of Italy. The Medical community has learned to adapt the way they treat. Unfortunately the cold fact is that you cannot prepare for a wave of this size in the short time frame. It's math, add in the virus was new to the medical world, add in the slow reaction and you have what we have. Italia served as the lesson, from every angle. I am hopeful that you will be on the downward turn of this in the next 2 weeks...giving some respite to the entire medical community and a weary Italia.
In NY we have set-up an additional 4k beds, 3k are meant for COVID-19 the other 1k are for regular medical care. This has been done in a convention center, our beloved Central Park and with the Floating Naval Hospital "Comfort". Our Governor is doing an exceptional job, he has truly risen to the task.
Sii forte!, rimanere in salute, rimanere sani fisicamente e` mentalmente tu e' la tua famiglia!

That is a major decline. Definitely going to impact the economy. But I feel better knowing that 85.4% of my paisani stayed home. Then again the dealers weren’t open.

    Ciao, Karen.

Another Italian, an F-Chat member that is abroad now, sent me (for free) a bunch of these FFP2 masks, that protect me and my wife when out for food and primary necessities goods into the shops or going to work. They are unfindable, here.

    Thanks.
