Yah well compare that to sticky rubber parts, valve guides that leak oil, and broken exhaust headers by .... well you know. :)

Does anyone realistically think GM is going to produce a whole new, clean sheet design Corvette with zero first year issues? C'mon maaan! If someone using the wrong screw to hold a fender liner is the worst there is, well.............

    Exactly

Ferrari is no different. Hell the first 458's caught FIRE and had to recall every single one to replace the foam and glue in the wheel well.

    Does anyone care now? Nope

Millions of miles of testing, hundreds of thousands of hours spent testing, still can’t prevent human error.
It is what it is, no matter if you’re Lexus, Mercedes, Ferrari or whomever.
Every mfg works tirelessly to avoid these types of things. S**t happens.
Thank goodness it’s not a safety or mechanical issue.

My F430 spider needed 4 re-flashing of the Fuel injection system computer in a year to get rid of check engine light issues. Did I care? Nope.

You and I understand just how difficult it is to make a product like a car or some other complicated machine. Many people have NO CLUE how things are made and how they work.

To them, its just so easy..... sure it is.

Those of us who have been involved in mass manufacturing understand this. The masses believe perfection exists...along with unicorns

    So true.
The average person has no concept of the complexity of such a complicated product. Ask the people at Boeing these days.

I couldn’t care less if there are first year issues, I just want my damn car. I’m itching for a new toy so badly and each day I’m tempted to pick up something else.

Ive not seen anyone taking delivery of a zeus bronze car yet.
Been reading the thread on the vette forum and surprised so many of the ordered cars are so similar (other than the orange car with the blue interior).

One of the threads on the forum over there supposedly has a breakdown of when certain color cars were painted, and the early cars we're seeing now are all white, orange, and black (and whatever else) because those colors were the colors that were painted first. I believe Zeus Bronze and Accelerate Yellow are later colors, but obviously the forum could be wrong.

Covid-19 is the latest production delay for the C8. At this point I'm thinking of just waiting until the 2nd model year when ever that may be. Are there going to be 2020 C8 on the road? I'm surprised I still have not seen one. Jeff on Fchat lives close to me and is the only one who sounds like a car will show up for him. The rest of us get promises. I'm growing a bit tired of it all and already felt a little uneasy with the strike delay and quality after it and now we got covid 19 delay how will that effect quality and supply chain? I'm ok with the typical 1st year bugs but could this be even worse? Chevy keeps saying they are pulling out all the stops for quality even delaying production to ensure it. Truth or marketing??

My car finally made it on the truck, I was one of the lucky ones and got everything I ordered....Carbon fiber ground effects, high wing...Should be here about 7 - 10 days....Assuming nobody hijacks the truck, hot commodities on there..;)

That's awesome!!! Clearly I'm not important enough to be so blessed even purchasing at the dealer I bought my last vette from.

As Fatbilly says, mine is on the way.
It was in Kansas on March 20th to be loaded onto a train headed to the California rail yard in Milpitas and my dealer is trying to figure out how they will get it from there to the dealer to do the pdi and get it ready for me.
Hopefully soon and the way it looks I will be one of the few with a 2020 between the strike and now the virus disrupting production.

    Thanks :)
My deposit was placed back in July 2019 on the reveal day and my order was accepted by GM in September 2019, its been quite a journey so far and its still not over.
My car is #01963 (the last five digits of my VIN) and they stopped production about week after mine was built so it looks like maybe less then 2500 units built for 2020 so far?

Gotten used to seeing them around here for some time. Many are GM Company cars, but customer cars as well. Have seen all the colors. Can't deal with the yellow, too 'green' for me. The Ceramic Grey is very cool. Many, many red ones, like Ferraris I guess. The Dk Grey is quite nice. Not fond of the lighter Blue. Not for me, but I hear it's quite popular. White is nice. Seen several Black ones. The car sure stands out in traffic, no question.
