While the 312P berlinetta had sexy lines, I always felt that the roof was too low, which perhaps hindered the driver's outward vision. If it had the same proportions as the P4 or the 512 S in that regard, it would have looked better.

Well it is exactly like the Nembo Spyder 1 chassis 1777GT, what makes it sexy is in great part how steeply inclined the windshield is -and in the case of the 312P in Berlinetta configuration how low the roof is) but like ladies' extremely high heels it gets unpractical.

However while in the Nembo you could get your eye poked out by the sharp pointed edge of the little side window (so you just drive with the mais side window up as I did when I drove it briefly in Geneva in 1998) in the 312P it does not really cause a problem unless you are very tall. I sat in 0872 (the car in the photo) at Monza in 2015 and there were two centimeters of space above my head (I am 1m75/5 ft 9) so the helmet would touch but it would not mean a hunchback driving position like dear old John Giordano in his 512S, who is very tall and large. Visibility in 0872 did not seem a problem.

FYI the car will run at Le Mans Classic this year...IF the race weekend takes place in July or later...in open body configuration because it breathes better that way and the Berlineta body had been devised with the Mulsanne straight in mind...which is since 1990 cut by two chicanes so engine breathing for fuller revs is more important than a sleek shape.

My all time favourite has to be the Prodrive 550 GTS especially the works car that ran with minimal sponsorship signage. Nothing like a bright red v12 Ferrari coupe turned racecar. With that said the Luc Alphand car that ran one year (03 or 04) looked good in the blue white and grey colours.

Notable mentions include the Aston DBR9 and the McLaren F1 GTR especially the Gulf Longtails.

Another clean simple livery with minimal signage. And something different from red too. Very nice
