This FOB came with the car when I recently purchased it.
Anybody ever heard of a JMA fob ? The other fob I have is black and “looks” OEM.

    Car is a 2003 456M

Can you confirm its a fob ? JMA is a known manufacturer of blanks - is it possible your black fob is with another possibly OEM key and this was the spare set ?

Almost certainly not a fob, but merely a spare key cut from the original.

Unfortunately the other key (and fob) are stuck in the ignition but that one certainly looks to be the OEM small black key with the silver horse (and black fob).

The red one pictured starts the car too.

Looks like an aftermarket key (only) to me, the red rectangular fob being the master alarm fob.

    Awesome. Thanks Fellas !

I thought that my red FOB attached to that JMA key was also a JMA unit.
Glad it may actually be the OEM.

Unfortunately do not have the numeric “master code” but as long as I have those fobs I am safe.
(As I understand you do not need the code unless you lose the fobs).

    Right ?

Also, is there ANY difference between the Master Red fob and the Black one ?

Maybe. An expensive experiment. This far out their records are not real reliable. A lot of cars have had code changes and not recorded in Ferrari files.

I have no reason to need the code at all as long as I have at least one functional FOB I believe.

Jeff- Several folks can now pull the alarm PIN from your red fob for a very reasonable cost. You really need that PIN and instructions on how to start her using the PIN in case you are ever out and trash your fob or the battery dies and you do not have a spare (put one in the glove box). Mark (gobble) here on FChat can also fix you up with any missing fobs so you have a full set of three to go along with the PIN.

That’s awesome, thank you for that information.

Great advice, is there any downside to keeping a spare FOB in the glove box 24/7 (that would be easy) or do you mean just a spare FOB battery ?
I am going to order new batteries now just to be safe.

If you want to save the cost of someone pulling the PIN from your red fob, when you have nothing better to do try keying all the combinations of a 4-digit PIN until you hit the right one. Don't forget to keep the battery tender hooked up while you do this.

A battery will not help you when the fob gets dropped in a puddle and kills it when you are far from home.

As always, my opinion is it is best to just excise the entire system and be done with it.

Trevor is the only guy who can do it through sone kind of motronic reprograming. The immobilizer box cannot just be removed. There there is another bypass box thing but it had some other issues and was not a clean solution.

Is there now a common knowledge way to remove the immobilizer system you can tell us?

I understand that and the point is it can and should be done.

You can remove the siren. You just end up with a constant LED light on the dash.

Is there any other downside ? It was always blinking when armed anyway.....
I suppose the light itself would be a constant draw if it was always on.

I will definitely ask the dealership to at least disable the siren and remove it completely if possible.

Why not just replace it? GM equivalent is less than $100 online.

I would just rather not have the siren (any siren) at all if given the choice.

Then do it the right way and have Trevor software out the system.
