Yeah, very good. But irrelevant to my question. I was using exactly the same measurement as has been used to come up with the 3 or 4%+ figure that has been quoted a lot. Number of deaths / number of confirmed cases. I'm sure you know that but are just being a smart-arse.
But how can you use the number you're quoting? Makes no sense. You don't know the outcome of the people who still have it.
Your last sentence is quite right, and the % will no doubt move around. But the point I was making (using the exact same methodology that has been widely used) is that in Oz the situation is tracking way under what we have seen elsewhere. Fair point... And you're just jealous because you're running out...
OK, OK, enough chit-chat. As at 8:15 pm tonight, 4250 cases and 18 deaths in Australia (0.4%). New cases falling: 28/3 460, 29/3 344, 30/3 260
I don’t think so. Businesses still have to pay the rest of their wage, and if your revenue has dropped by 70, 80 or 90%, you still don’t have money to pay the balance. Plenty of businesses are still going to the wall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Only six new cases in SA today. Of course there's a long way to go before we get too excited but the numbers look to be heading in the right direction.
I don’t mean to make light of the situation, just trying to be optimistic.. n spread a bit of positivity
I know you are Chin. I hope the economy picks up as well, but this is just the beginning. Personally, I think a shut down for 4 to 8 weeks would have been better. Everyone could plan for it, it’s 2 mortgage payments, 2 commercial rent payments, 2 car payments etc. etc. I’m no doctor, so whether it is the correct path, I don’t know. I feel it would have had less of an impact to the economy in the long run, and would have been less costly to the government. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There are 3 kinds of people in this world. Those who can count, and those who can’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The market shot up today like there was no tomorrow. I don't get it. However, I only see downside as companies revise profits.
Hard one.. Always those that can’t Go in lock down.. Like the cruise ship debacle. Why travel after the Japanese cruise ship incident n now want govt to pick up the tab.. I fear the Middle class like us will be paying the bills..
