In other words, hopes Vettel gets booted.

"I'm very good with him by my side." = I'm OK with him as equal at best, not no. 1 driver, or he can go.

Leclerc has the potential to win a world championship and he knows it. He's not a #2 driver and is asserting that he isn't.

There's always friction when young talent comes through to claim equal status to that of a veteran former world champion.

I suspect Leclerc's future with Ferrari will make for some interesting spectating. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Agree'd. For the title - Seb was already unstable and the contract is meaningless given his mistake prone driving before Charles even arrived.

Vettel has been shaky since Ricciardo oblitarated him in his first year at Red Bull.
I think that he lost his confidence at that time.

It did not help his confidence at all I would imagine. Kimi offered little challenge ever. Ferrari wasted time with Kimi and Massa. I was a fan of both but in terms of performance they offered little to the team.

Agreed, but not necessarily at Ferrari.

Dominance by a particular team is cyclical. Mercedes won't want Leclerc while Hamilton is still driving (and I don't think he'll drive for any other team, he'll retire from there), Mercedes won't be on top forever, and I'd say either Ferrari or Red Bull have the best shot at dethroning them. Red Bull is Max's team now, so Leclerc is in the best spot he can be in. He might need to wait for a change in the regulations to shake things up a bit, but he'll get there.

    All the best,
    Andrew.
