Nephew that lives in Vegas getting tested tomorrow, told him 4-5 days for results. Says breathing feels like there is 10 pounds pushing down on his lungs, 37 years old, no pre existing, wait and see they told him....
In other news, Japan claims they will have home test kits in vending machines in 2 weeks, results in 45 minutes, how can that be ?

Really hope he’s is ok... but we will see more younger people presenting with these type of symptoms...
Astonishing that the U.S. is so behind on testing like Japan and S. Korea. Mind boggling

Mybe not! Some in US are promoting rapid igg/igm rapid test kit but PCR is the only FDA approved gold standard test. So what are other countries actually testing and what with? IGG/IGFM takes 15 mins vs PCR days

I was told that the test results are 10 days now due to a backlog...that seems like a really long time

If someone tests positive, they'll need to retest to see if he/she still has it

There is a new test that the FDA has approved that is coming that works in 45 minutes. It might be rolled out in a few weeks.

My daughter had to wait 6 days. It was negative, so she had regular flu

Sorry to tell you that the sensitivity of the test is about 70%+ only, which means the test can miss 30% of the patients who really has the virus. So the standard now is to retest it again in few days. For any disease that is serious, a screening test with 70% sensitivity is not acceptable, but we just don't have anything better. Therefore, if your loved ones are breathing fast and/or hard, please bring them to the hospital, so we can retest them and make sure the patient does not have bilateral infiltrate on the chest x-ray.

Be safe and stay at home.

One thing I know is a lot of car batteries will be dead. My X6M almost didn't start after three weeks of not being driven. My manual car can roll down the hill and pop the clutch. :p

As a person that has been an asymptomatic host for the majority of my life "but I never get sick, ever" I can say that I am slightly concerned. I am not toilet paper hoarding concerned, but the chances of getting it are very high even if it is mild or even just as a carrier.

My buddy has been renting my spare room from me since my ex and I broke up 5-6 years ago. Every night he goes out for a walk in Sherman Oaks and swears he'll be fine. I have mentioned I have zero risk exposure, that he represents 100% of my risk and his walks are an unknown. Some people just can't stay at home and read a ****ing book.

It's actually more like hanging out than a rental, we've been friends for almost thirty years. He's always on some movie or show and I'm always in the bay but coming back to a lockdown and his trawling for covid is a nail biter.

Yes, speeding tickets produce revenue. Messing with homeless folks in tent cities costs money.

Just drove my typical Malibu route (Mulholland, PCH, Encinal Canyon, etc.) both Sat and Sun late afternoons. Not a single other F-car. Steady handful of McLarens, and Lambos both days though. Wondering if F is being eclipsed by other brands among recent buyers? Doesn't really matter to me since I'm driving a 21 year old car I consider a keeper, but curious if F is becoming less the go-to brand for some.

McLarens are all over the place, like Astons and the Lambo Urus. I see more McLarens than BMW M cars on a daily basis driving around. Lease queens
