I remember reading an article years ago that said the 355 was the most successful for Ferrari to date, selling over 10,000 of them throughout their run. I don't know the numbers on the 360, but I would imagine that it will outsell the 355 when it's run comes to an end.

If you consider 208, 308, 328, GTB, GTS, GTBi, GTSi, GTB Turbo, GTS turbo all the same car, there are 21000 made. This does not include the 308 GT4 Bertone.

    360, by a mile

Ferrari produce a pamphlet on what cars they've sold worldwide and to the UK.. there are some very rare cars (like 1 or 2) sold officially in the UK.

The 360 had sold more than any other IIRC (and is still in production)

Is the subtle undertone of this thread to determine which models will face the most wicked depreciation? On one hand, a hugely sucessful model like the 355 or 360 with 10,000+ cars manufactuered must, in some regard, affect the speed of depreciation. With so much supply, buyers will have some real choices and can afford to look at MANY cars (all simultaneously available on the market) before making a decision. On the other hand, 10,000 cars is a pathetic amount in the scheme of automobile manufacturing -- leaving Ferrari clearly in the "boutique" category compared to the big boys.

Yes, I know that worldwide demand likely ALWAYS be strong for these cars -- but when there are 10,000 360's versus a only 350 F-50's, you can easily guess where the prices will "hold".

    Just some thoughts...

There is an alternate logic: cars are produced in tune with demand, so, aside from exclusive low volume series, high volume cars are the ones which were the most appealing to customers.
Supply and demand will play also in the aftermarket.
Hits might remain hits, and dogs will remain dogs.

Indeed, the 456 has cataclysmic depreciation, yet sells in very small numbers compared to a 360.

I guess "limited production" (special high-end cars) is different from "produced in small numbers" (expensive, niche cars).

Last year it would have been the F355, but, by now the 360 has passed.

Now if you consider car architecture:

    308 including {308, 208, 328, Mondial}...(all transverse V8s with transverse gearbox)
    348 including {348, 355, Mondial T}.......(all longitudinal V8s with transverse gearbox)
360 including {360} .............................(all longitudinal V8s with longitudinal gearbox)

My guess is the the 348 architecture has more cars.

What is the total production of 360s? I believe they have made over 4000 per year x 4= 16000+ cars?

So by the end of production their will be in excess of 20,000 360s

Boy, Mitch, you have some serious stones to come on here and throw the 348 and Mondial in the same class as the 355, don't you? I bet the 355'ers on this board had to have a dose of pepcid a/c after reading that! The very idea!!! Personally, I couldn't agree with you more.

    Not Mondial, Mondial T

Its not a class thing, its a classification based on the direction the motor is placed in the chassis and the direction that the transmission gears are placed in the chassis. In addition, the chassis of the F355 and F348 come from the same shaping molds. If you wanted to you could put a F355 engine plus tranny in an F348 or in a Mondial T. Given my classification scheme, How would you organize the last 30 years of mid engine V8s?

It just so happens that cars from the same classification have lots of visual similarities, lots of driving sensation similarities,.....

A bit less than 3000 per year... so, 3000*4.5 = 13500, roughly speaking.
4000 is total Ferrari production (all models) for recent years.

Before this gets into an ugly "bash the 348" session, let's all just take a deep breath. Mind you, there was a time (and many of us were living...) when the 246 was considering a total mechanical joke.

23 posts and nobody can give the right production numbers.
    I don't know either.
