I had the same thing with the 550 Gizz....I had not started it in a while...I ended up getting the uprated water pump from Super Performance....
I’ve done the same thing this time mate. I assume the one Marc fitted was a genuine, so cant expect much there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The OEM ones are crap on the modern v12s...Maybe the plastic impellers can’t handle the heat?...The uprated ones have alloy impellers...
I think most mechanics use OEM for warranty and to cover their arses....If it’s a mate different story....
Aha. If that’s the case, then Marc fitted the upgraded one as this one I removed had an alloy impeller. It’s the bearing that’s failed though, not the impeller. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The issue with Ferrari water pumps is and always has been the size of the bearings. This crap goes back to 308 days, when the fix was to install a QV pump. Heavier (alloy) impellers reduce flexing of the shaft so the coolant seals last longer, but has no effect on bearing wear.
I believe that to be the case as well Ian. After I removed the water pump, I checked the idlers and one of them is noisey as well so I’ll replace that bearing as it’s only a 6302 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BLIMEY! https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/147138965/ .....PS the interesting bit finishes after 7 minutes.
Actually you're correct 'cos I don't know how to do the one you've put up or some of the other ones. Shock, whimsical, horror etc.
