Order a Volvo kit and do it yourself.

... and if you are smart enough to get the rack out of the car, I don't think the overhaul would present too many challenges :D

(For the uninitiated, the rack is notoriously difficult to get out of the car)

    It's beyond difficult.
I am pretty sure someone posted a thread on how to rebuild the power rack on a 355, complete with where to get the rebuild kit.

Just throw a 348 rack in it. :)
Will fix the car for the better! :)

So you can slow down the steering and make the frond end settings more conservative?

    No thanks.

Wait... so everyone loved the 355's hydraulic telepathic and lively steering feel over the 348 slow lifeless steering feel? Not sure that's not true. Maybe update the 355 power steering to the challenge spec that would be a GREAT option for a 355 I suspect.

You need a different rack, like the Fiarino rack.

Few links of some places the do rebuild work I read about here and=d there. Midwest, East and West coasts. Just a few spots I gathered from FChat, no affiliation just providing some possibilities for you is all, feel free to do more homework as well:
    http://www.rotexla.com/
    https://www.reyesalternators.com/
    http://speedyrack.com/

There is also a place in Orange County Ca I can't find that has been used a few times? I can't find as I lost all my links. Best of luck!
