Thanks for posting. Those old ‘50’s crates are as hideous as the mutant blobs raced today . At least they were distinctive though but eeeeewwww, our poor parents/grand/great/great great.......
Come on now. They were sow’s ears on the showroom floor, admit it . All I see are groupers with tires . We had tons of them rusting away in our field when I was toddler. Thought the same then as I do now. Each one was sad and homely and awaiting a happy new life as an equally grotesque Tercel. Make that two Tercels....
Goodness, gracious me.......whatever makes you think that....? 'Don't give a sheet one way or 't'other....'don't follow this sheet too closely anymore. If I want to watch scripted, fictional, "good" (close) action I just flip on a movie (day-amn....wasn't Days of Thunder, Driven, F vs. F exciting?!?!?! 'About the same, no?...... ).

I never mentioned racing in my comment . I’m all about showroom stock and cheating a little here and there.....
55-57 Chevys were an exception to the rule. Have a look at their Pontiac brethren or Chev’s earlier iterations. My grouper reference per below. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It isn't cheating. It is called "creative engineering". Rule books are nothing more than a guide telling what you "can't " do. They never said anything about what you could do. Installing fuel lines that held more gas than the tank was never cleared defined. Same for planting a rear wing on the trunk lid. It's what made racing so much fun!!
Is that like one RP's T/A team and "nice guy" Mark's towering fuel rigs packed with dry ice and acid dipped "stock" Camaro bodies? Never mind....I know the answer. Hmmmmm...'sounds like "The Unfair Advantage".....
C’mon LB, I like your posts, but if you insist on being pedantic, then fine, show me where I wrote ‘racing’. I WAS commenting about aesthetics and mentioned how the cars of NASCAR today and the cars raced in the 50’s were equally hideous. It was a light-hearted slur on the cars of the day. The racing itself was never the focus. After responding to comments regarding MY posts, YOU decided to change the topic when you stated, Check Gator’s thread title. I don’t see ‘racing’ mentioned there either. Quick example; Someone posts a clip of the 1966 LeMans 24 under the header, ‘When GT cars were REAL GT cars’. Someone else posts, “Gee, those cars were gorgeous”. Are you honestly going to post on top of that, “I thought we were talking about World Endurance Racing here, not aesthetics...... ? Don’t see it happening, you’re too much of a fan....
Lorenzo making trouble again? Don't make me take you off Ignore! Don't make me take you off Ignore! BHW
A wise woman once taught me at a very young age that actions speak louder than words. I think G's 27:18 video of stock car racing under his title of "When stock cars really were stock!" speaks louder than the word "racing", so no....I didn't change the topic at all...... And re: "It was a light-hearted slur on the cars of the day.", so was my reply to you of: "Horsefeathers Grasshopper! 'Wasn't to us at the time........'real stockers they were....... " (Note the smilies? They're a giveaway....) 'Sorry you bundled your bloomers....more pleasure and less defensiveness works wonders in stressful times of corona..... And BW, I haven't discovered a way to change my genetics.....
