Massive brainwashing here by all Swiss media. Swiss Government wants you to stay at home, Police is brutally acting like never before.
    Goodbye Switzerland.

I have been pondering a move to Switzerland. Then, I saw the massive fines for speeding and now this.

How much are the Swiss fines up to these days for after hours toilet flushing and weekend lawn mowing?

Sounds like the Switzerland I know; the one where bystanders call the Police if someone dares to drive a bit spiritedly. I love their watches and chocolates, but I really despise the place. If I wanted to get more political, I would say that it is Europe's money laundring machine. Anyway, I will refrain from insulting our Swiss friends any further.

Im sorry Marcel, it shouldn't be like that but, yes, it is like that in some places. Let's think and pray for those who are affected by this disaster. And when we can lets drive!

Blue + grass in the Bluegrass yesterday. Fortunately nothing but positive feedback here, too. I feel sad for Marcel and others living in intolerant locales. Especially Switzerland which is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited.

Europe is trending very different on social attitudes etc than much of the US. Mainly emanating from Scandinavia, other countries with a whole socialist bias and those affected by climate change or others filthy habits eg Switzerland.

I like balance in my politics but the no platforming of “woke opposing views” etc is increasingly making life difficult for people who genuinely just love their cars. It will happen in the US on the Democrat coastlines. Just not in the Trump areas.

Electric cars make little sense (yet) evaluated on a whole of life basis, but California is wall to wall with them. Mainly peer pressure and virtue signalling.

The main way to avoid all this IMHO will be to buy “old stuff” which folks still seem to enjoy seeing around.

I have just come back now from my fourth 812 trip in the last seven days and twice also including downtown Zurich.
Bottomline: I can not reconfirm your observations Marcel; not one middle finger, no stones no hatred at all but rather the complete opposite with people smiling, children screaming and thumbs up as it has always been the case so far when I was out with this car.
Lots of hikers, bikers, and other super cars were all out today at least what I have seen.

Maybe you have unfortunately been passing a crowd of leftists/socialists activists and/or Greta followers recently? In this case I would not be surprised to get a negative reaction by definition but this can happen anywhere on this planet.....

That's not necessarily true. Class differences are especially acute due to cars, luxury brands as status symbols, as well as the type of housing. Seeing as how no one should be out, it is the perfect time to drive a Ferrari, especially with cheap gas and lower emissions.

Electric cars are more prevalent in the US since more people have garages, and are cheaper to operate. There are also carpool lane benefits in CA, as well as priority parking. They also serve as status symbols to be fair. I would argue you can be a car enthusiast while being educated on important issues.

I am gratefulI I am not in Switzerland or UK in these times. Still taking out the 812 when I can and still respectful of others and social distancing.
