I agree. I backwash for 2 minutes, rinse for 1. My filter has lasted 20 years so far and the pool is sparkling.

We've only just eliminated the last of the bushfire ash though.

word on the street is that Greg and PP have put in a bid.

They're hiring pilots from Aeroflot to save money :)

Oh there’s lots of good stories - they just don’t get as much coverage in certain places... the problem is most of the ‘noise’ comes from urban ‘bandwagon’ indigenes - people very rarely interact with the ‘real’ people. And getting rid of all the mainstream ‘advisors’ would be a very good start...

You forget I did a ride around Nepal on Royal Enfields. Across 12 bikes, we had 2 breakdowns per day. The nicest thing you can say about them is that they're easy to work on.

Maaate, that was not a trip for easy & relaxing riding, it was broken up roads, mud & dust. I'm standing here, with my sons (we wore face masks to breath through the thick dust) and my mate Marc from Hamburg in the background, my niece to the left. We stopped at these roadside settlements as often as we could, to give them some business, it's a very poor country.

Did anyone tune them for the altitude? Looks like a great fun trip anyway!
My abiding memory of Nepal is camping in a paddock one night and the valley falling away from us was pretty speccy so we went to bed happy - woke up next morning to Fishtail Mountain in our face, complete with snow blowing off the peak... couldn't see it the afternoon before due to all the smoke from the charcoal/ wood cooking fires that were still used everywhere. From the smiles on the guides faces it was obviously their best party trick.

I wouldn't have done it if I'd known how dangerous the roads were. Still we made it with only one hospital visit (broken ribs and perforated lung) and now its a fabulous memory for all who went.

    +1

I will let my Father inlaw know, he loves these bikes also and I am sure he will be disappointed to hear this also.

No tuning changes through the week and we ranged from 2000 to 4000 metres without any change in running, not that the bikes were very powerful to start with!

Nothing prepares you for seeing the Himalayas up close in person. No photograph or film captures the immensity and height and yes, when the air is clear you can see the snow blowing off a hundred kms away, makes you feel insignificant yet has an emotional impact. Should be on everyone's bucket list IMHO.

And the Nepalese beer is good too :)

That does seem to have started the whole tragedy.
