The guys at Pelican Parts posted this Puzzle — looks like a 2 seat 4 cyl to me.

Good eye! Real close, the turtle deck is more streamlined though, the vertical stabilizer is updated looking, like an RV, and the landing gear looks beefy like a certified AC.

the canopy certainly looks like the Chipmunk. ( what’s the Russian Trainer with same style canopy?)

The Yak 52? It's not one of those-- the Yak is more like a slightly smaller, tricycle gear T-6. This looks like someone's kit copy of a Chipmunk.

    Looks similar to the T-34B

I can't see a Chipmunk in this design. T-34 yes.

T-34 is a tri-gear, and has Bonanza wings.

Could this also be someone's one-off project?

I was looking mainly at the fuselage and canopy.

Right Bob— that canopy doesn’t look homebuilt.

the landing gear isn’t the Homebuilt usual steel tubing. The empennage looks modern— off a Beech or Cherokee, or RV 6, and the antennas early seventies.

edit— vertical stabilizer looks too tall for RV

and look at the patchwork above wing root — looks like different wings?

OK. Then the cowling, nose gear, fuselage, canopy, and empennage are not T-34.;)

Nope. Different canopy, cowling, tail, and not a taildragger.
