Steven, I recall seeing Luigi Chinetti Jr's white car in his garage in Connecticut at least 35-40 years ago.

Regard that iconic #22 in the background! Always gives me a shiver, since when I was in the Navy at NAS Alameda over sixty years ago, racing my little TR3, 22 was my racing #.

    Hello,

I was thinking the same, it (#0700) was 2nd OA in the race itself, but maybe it qualified as 5th?

i could not find that, only the fact that the Fangio / Moss / Schell Maserati got pole position, the second Maserati was 2nd in the grid and the Aston Martin DBR1/300 with Tony Brooks / Noel Cunningham-Reid was 3rd. So maybe the Scuderia Ferrari cars finished 4th and 5th in qualification? In the race itself they finished 2nd and 3rd.

And I too had been lead to believe that although the Hawthorn / Trintignant car (#0656) was a 315 Sport, but the Collins / Gendebien car #0700 was a 335 Sport, no?

    (Edit)
Oh, sorry, t was already there, I had not yet read far enough. Just a typo. I was just wondering as it was not the first time I saw #0700 referred to as 315 Sport, when it was 335 Sport all the time. Ok, thank you for clearing that up. :)
