I remember reading on here a while back, someone used the secondary air pump from , I think, a Nissan GTR.

My old pump was seized. By spraying it full of electrical parts cleaner I got it working, but it was very rough running. New one is smooth as silk.

Thanks everyone that took time to respond, I appreciate it.

I figure I will take it out and check it out. It doesn't seem to affect the running of the car, and from what I understand is meant for emissions and smog checks.

I will make sure to reply to this thread with the results, conclusion to help others when I get to it.

    Cheers

It’s only for emissions. No biggie unless you gotta get inspected .

Maybe it's obvious, but before you remove the pump did you check the fuse ? They start to trip fuses as the pump draws more amps as it nears end-of-life or needs service.

If it is the fuse, you could probably get away with increasing it to a sightly higher rated fuse (some here will stone me for recommending this), removing the pump, cleaning it, and changing the media.
