There is good chance it will not happen with the LB. But going to be a V6 powered car it will be a hard pill to swallow for some out there. Which is why they could choose to make all the necessary steps and maybe even some more so that the car gets accepted as a full blown super car. Who knows only time will tell…

Ferrari F1 car has a V6 combustion engine, the new F8 replacement too. Ferrari F1 car has a turbocharged combustion engine, the new F8 replacement too. Ferrari F1 car has an hybrid powertrain, the new F8 replacement too. Ferrari F1 car is RWD only, the new F8 replacement too.

    Where is the problem?

    ciao

    PS
This engine will remind a bit the early type 021 Ferrari 1.5 liter V6 TT F1 engine, but with double displacement and an electric engine unit added between the gearbox and the combustion engine. Specific power (ICE only) is in the 200-250 Hp/liter range

No street engine revs like a F1 engine, of course.

Exactly - Plus Mercedes One project are selling there V6 Turbo hybrid for over 2 million
So the market will accept LB quite easily without push back for it being a V6. Customers
will be more concerned with performance stats than whether its a V6 or V8 Also McLaren
and Aston are bringing V6 hybrids to the same segment so it'll be considered the norm

expecially if the new V6 engine will have a combined engine power of 800+ Hp, outperforming at the drag strip the old V8 model...

Honestly, I don't need your help for anything. Most of your contributions are good, but that was just condescending.

@Albert-LP: Albert, I can see George's point of view that it was a little obvious to point out that the spy photos were of the mule and not of the final design of the F8 replacement. Clearly, the photos are not of a finished car, so assuming some prior knowledge amongst your audience is ok from time to time. Your other posts are outstanding. Let's move on.

@G. Pepper: George, similarly, it was pretty obvious that Albert's post contained obvious information - and the tangent that pointing that out rather than just ignoring it and focusing on his more valuable contributions has been a little disruptive. Let's move on.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Wouldn't 800+hp be getting too close to the SF90 ?
Not that I mind but just feels too big of a bargain ?

SF90 stradale V8 has 1000 hp and 4WD with a torque vectoring electric front axle. The new mid Engine V6 car is rumored at 800 hp (650+150) and only rwd. Maybe the total power will be 770 or 820, who knows, but will be much more than the actual F8 that has 720 hp.The engine has not a single bolt coming from actual Alfa Romeo V6 engine: brand new.

    Ciao

Please consider that what I wrote are two years old rumors and even on my book (2017-2108 written) there is something (hidden between the lines) about Ferrari future models, as a new model developing usually requires four years (at least).
Now here, in Maranello area, there are available much more detailed rumors, with the engine and powertrain detailed configurations and specs, some possible car names (or maybe the definitive one) and so on. I only share "what everyone here knows" and no more, as usual: but what "here everyone knows" (often) is a bit more than in the remaining part of the world.

What told is related to the mid engine car: (here there are rumors that) the new V6 will be (very likely) placed also in the Portofino and Roma engine bay, sooner or later, with a bit less power of course.

    ciao

who knows, and then now there is this mess of Covid too: I would say within next year, but this is not a thing that goes in the rumors. Rumors usually come from testers, technicians and (expecially) by their relatives or friends. For the sale date usually dealers know much more and in advance than any rumor, sorry.

    ciao

I would agree that the LB would be released to the public in 2021 probably Geneva if it goes ahead. The F8 therefore will be selling till late 2021 and the spider into 2022.

Your query is kind of off topic - try the 15 new models thread in the top general section.....
