If the general rule of thumb is 30-40% off for salvage and lets say a good 11k mile 575 manual is $200-220k wouldn't this be a good buy at $100k?

This is good timing, I sold mine 2 months ago, I really didn't want to get back in, but this one is local here in miami and 6 spd so im interested.

The car is 1 of 80 US cars with a 6 speed right?

What would be a good price for this car?

My guess the buyer obtained a good deal. Fix it up and enjoy driving the car for years. They were valued in the low 200's to mid 250's and just 80 examples are in the USA. I cannot imagine the buyer will end up losing significant money, in the long run. You are out of pocket for mechanical upkeep.

Cars at the top and bottom of the range will always find buyers. No clue how much it will cost on top of a fresh major service and cleaning up some minor cosmetic issues. I would not turn down a 300SL Gullwing with a dirty title. You could do a lot worse and end up with a nice shiny two thousand mile 488.

They did well at 95. Fix what’s immediately necessary, drive it.... meanwhile pick up used parts as you find them.. eventually get the paint sorted.

Very strange. Seller's friend is offering it to F355 for 80K net.

    "Hey there,

I think you were bidding on the 575 6spd on BAT today. The guy who won the auction is a friend and had something come up with his family today. I’m looking after this for him. Honestly, it may be best, given everything if he passes on the auction. He’s a man on his word, so he’ll close. But given your interest in 575 six speeds, would you close on it, for 80K if he took care of the BAT fee?

I’m his friend, and am helping him out. It is nothing serious, its just a timing thing.

This is an opportunity, think it over, you can get me at [email protected].

    Thanks,

    Enrique"

No thanks still I messaged owner before to go see it in Miami have a look and nobody replied. I think the car is very cheap even if it needs work. How do I buy it for $80k without getting nigerian scammed I bid $90k lol but quit bidding when seller wouldn’t reply. For $80k I’m in. Should I message bat for advice ha

Tough call since it’s a “friend” .... at 80k I think it’s a great deal. Needs some $$ and time put into it, but would make a great driver

Email the guy. Make it a face to face transaction. You can’t go wrong for 80. And bring some muscle out of sight.

Have the seller meet you at a bank. Outside of a PPI inspect the vehicle and drive it. Make a checklist and take a paint gauge. Bring a marque specialist mechanic if this is an option. If you are happy proceed inside of the bank.

    My spider sense is tingling

Seller would not answer questions while car was on auction.
Winning bid was made days before auction closed.
    And now this side deal...

    Just look away...

Yeah first verify the guy has the car. Too easy to go into your profile on BAT and get your info. If he has the car... make sure its got a clean title, meet the guy, drive it to make sure it runs, and buy it. At 80 if you don't need the money else where any time soon its a great long term project and investment. OR let Ratarossa buy it and provide us with hours f entertainment

Three ways to get a manual 575M: big money up front; convert one; or buy a rough one and the investment will be in restoration costs. The last one, at least, you can spread out the costs and conceivably use your own sweat labor.
