Hey there, I think you were bidding on the 575 6spd on BAT today. The guy who won the auction is a friend and had something come up with his family today. I’m looking after this for him. Honestly, it may be best, given everything if he passes on the auction. He’s a man on his word, so he’ll close. But given your interest in 575 six speeds, would you close on it, for 80K if he took care of the BAT fee? I’m his friend, and am helping him out. It is nothing serious, its just a timing thing. This is an opportunity, think it over, you can get me at [email protected]. Thanks, Enrique
Wow, that sounds weird no offense. I tried to reach seller to see car and he never responded. The car was local to where I was, I bid $90k bc I was interested but never went higher bc of no reply. I’m interested but this still sounds weird.
I mean sure, it sounds like this dude had shill bids from $80K and up (minus yours at $90K), and his friend bid $95K expecting at least one more bid, and no one bid...last one standing in musical chairs. That's what it sounds like to me.
Dan is right...very odd...hankcinq posted in the BaT thread as quoted below *before* the auction ended, but *after* his "friend" had made a bid (which turned out to be the only bid after Dan's and thus the "winner"). Hmmm...so its altogether unclear if he was helping someone buy it or someone sell it...or what the hell is going on here...needs a bunch of 'splaining... hankcinq - "This is an incredible value, more than 50% off market. Try finding another one, it’s 1 of 246, any where near this price. Lots of room to make this right…" https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-ferrari-575m-maranello-six-speed/ And what in the hell did you ever do to that MikeHoncho guy? Rent free indeed!
its all fine and im local id love the car, but Im not trying to end up in a cinder block. For $80k its a steal even if it needs repairs, I just sold my F1 for $87k. Id love to get it, but the seller never once replied when I asked questions, I wanted to have my tech see the car see what it needed thats all. If I can get the car and not murdered, Im on board, i emailed the guy above, but Id need some sort of verification from bat on the sellers email and wire instructions. Ive bought 2 cars on bat you deal with the seller direct he usually overnights the title, etc. Again this car is allegedly close by, i know maybe 4 people with maranellos in miami, not one of them has seen this car. I reached out to a few other car guys i know in miami, nobody knows it and its weird bc theres a big car scene in miami there's a big classic car cars and coffee pretty much every sunday morning and all the car guys get together you figure a 6 speed 575 belongs to a car guy. Anyways, im definitely itnerested in the car, not in dying, not in getting scammed. lets wait for the email
The seller said he had it for 16 years and it was serviced at the dealer (at least for the stickies he says). So I'd try to get some info from them on the car and its history.
Ya we have ferrari ft lauderdale and the collection so not sure which dealer he went to, the seller is selling another testarossa now and its in like colorado. It's all so weird to me, for $80k, i know its a steal....if the car is real lol. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-ferrari-testarossa-19/ I know when i sold a car on bat you have to scan them the title so i reached out to them too so someone has a title to this thing.
Maybe Carbon or Taz know something about this VIN? (just thinking about who might have any kind of listing or database on 575's)
I looked through his spreadsheet and its not in there. We'll see I emailed enrique above. The seller wouldn't contact me, now the buyer wouldn't contact me his friend is doing it haha.......am i wrong for thinking this is weird? LOL
I messaged bat if they’ll help facilitate since I didn’t technically win, then cool. Still no reply from bat or the guy above.
Is there a good indie shop in Miami? Have them take the car there to confirm it is real. If they won't, **** em. If it is real, I'd buy it at $80k. You can leave it at the shop and expect to spend at least $20k getting it road ready, or part it out. The 6MT is probably worth $40k by itself.
Ya I’ve got a great guy, I’m just waiting for a reply, I bid $90k knowing it was a mess at $80k I’m in just show me its real lol
Anyone have any thoughts/insights on the 599 with dealer installed new motor-clutch about to roll across ? I have been searching for a 458 Spider and am trying to be patient but haven't found my personal spec stallion... and am almost to the point I'm tempted to pick up something in the interim
Meet the seller at your bank and visually inspect the car, at the parking lot. If you like the car transfer and notarize papers inside of the bank. You will not end up on the back of a milk carton.
