Sounds like NO REFUNDS, LOL. All tickets purchased and vehicle registrations made to date will be valid for the event Saturday August 14, 2021.

MERCER ISLAND WA (April 24, 2020) — Due to the ongoing health concerns related to the COVID -19 virus and the uncertainty of events being permitted by state officials and the California Governor, officials at the Concorso Italiano Foundation, the owners of the Concorso Italiano have decided to cancel the 2020 event originally scheduled for Saturday August 15, 2020.

“We are exploring ways to continue our support for the Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services, our primary beneficiary of the Concorso Italiano event. Also we are continuing our fundraising for CESVI Foundation providing medical protective equipment to the main hospital in Bergamo Italy – the epicenter of the outbreak in Italy – and helps the elderly and families to shelter in place by providing equipment, food and support services directly in their homes.” said Tom McDowell, Chairman of the Concorso Italiano Foundation.

While our focus is on 2021, we continue to donate $10 from all vehicle registrations and ticket sales to Cesvi as well as matching direct donations made here.

“Our deepest gratitude is extended to the team, our partner sponsors, and the car clubs who have supported us through many years. It is wonderful to have their support. They need to know with adequate time that the event we are accustomed to will not happen this year so the travel arrangements may be adjusted. Our international clients and partners have indicated their travel limitations already and we look forward to 2021 when we resume our wonderful event, as well as all of the terrific events of the Monterey Car Week.”

The celebrations scheduled for the 35th Concorso Italiano will be celebrated on Saturday August 14, 2021, as well as significant anniversaries and celebrations of 2021. We will work with all of our partners to create a terrific event for our clients and look forward to our Italian brands returning to the beautiful fairways of the Bayonet Golf Course, with our unique features and events.

The events of Car Week do more than celebrate great cars; they benefit so many people in need. Our efforts with Jacob’s Heart will continue, and the health and safety of everyone associated with the Concorso Italiano is top priority, which led us to this very difficult decision. We recognize that cancelling the 2020 event will be disappointing to many, although we are confident it is appropriate under these unique circumstances.”

All tickets purchased and vehicle registrations made to date for the 2020 Concorso Italiano will be valid for the event on Saturday, August 14, 2021. We will forward updated tickets to all ticketholders and vehicle registrants in the coming weeks.

Concorso is essentially using entrant fees (and paid spectators) as their personal loan. They understandably would prefer entrants to keep their registration, and spectators their 2020 tickets, for use at the `postponed' event in 2021. But they told me that if I want a refund, it won't be issued until 2021 registration opens up next year.

As of now, Laguna Seca plans to have the historic races, Carmel Concours on the Avenue is still on, as is the Mecum auction. Lesser known Concours at Pasadera is hoping to have their 2nd annual event (the Fri before Car Week). Of course, all events are subject to the health order restrictions in place at that time. And anyone watching the `local' news would see that Monterey County health director has been very conservative (in other words, reluctant to ease restrictions).

I called Mecum Auctions today (May 20) and was told that as of today they plan to hold the Auctions. Also called the organizer of the Tuesday Cars on the Avenue. Same story.

It will be a different carweek for sure. Last time it was already different (in a bad way) as mayhem was on ocean avenue at night/dinner time.
Donuts and burnouts were the reason for the local police to close down the carmel centre...
This was for me the reason not to attend this year (or following) as we had the greatest times last couple of years. We encountered countless stunning cars, friendly people and found even friends for life....

As the numbers of visitors grew the last 8 years we attended (start visiting with the smaller events (Legents of the autobahn/concourse on the ave etc.) and gradually going to the mega events, Concorso Italiano, Quail and Mc Call.
Including Pebble Beach, each year ofcourse.

It is unfortunate (car)events like these are destroyed by there own succes. The same happens in Europe like Mille Miglia, Villa 'D Este etc. The ticket prices are of another plannet and difficult to get hold on. Look at the tickets of Quail. Now you only have the guarantee of tickets when you buy the "big 3"... Add the tickets, overnight stay and foods&drinks and carweek (for us) is a small fortune (read $10K)....

It is maybe one of the "advantages" of Covid-19 to reflect the last couple years (including the organisations) what the course will be for the future as the way it was going now it would have died/prohibited? due to the risks including the burdon for local residents....

I should mention that Concorso Italiano did in fact eventually refund my exhibitor fee, so credit is due for them stepping up, however reluctantly may have been the case.

Came across this interesting site that reports the events still on and those cancelled...claims to be updated daily (which I find a bit hard to believe).

    https://whatsupmonterey.com/article/activities/monterey-car-week-overview

But it shows these events as still happening. I can confirm Carmel Concours on the Ave after speaking with the organizer. Not listed, but still on, is the Concours at Pasadera, also per the organizer.

The following 9 Monterey Car Week events are STILL ON for 2020 as of 6/9/2020
    • Monterey Car Week Kick-Off
    • Monterey Pre-Reunion
    • Concours on the Avenue
    • Prancing Ponies Car Show
    • Mecum Auto Auctions: Muscle Cars & More
    • Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion
    • Pacific Grove Rotary Concours Auto Rally
    • Werks Reunion
    • Annual Ferrari Owners Club Gathering

No surprise there. How could they possibly maintain safe environment at an open event such as this? Besides, so many parking spaces are now taken up by restaurant outdoor dining (since they're limited on indoor dining seats, and very soon to be not allowed...again), that there'd be no place for the cars.

    And then there were just (4);
As of 7/4/2020, 4 Monterey Car Week Events are STILL ON for 2020
    • Prancing Ponies Car Show
      August 12, 2020
    • Mecum Auto Auctions: Muscle Cars & More
      August 13-15, 2020
    • Pacific Grove Rotary Concours Auto Rally
      August 14, 2020
    • Annual Ferrari Owners Club Gathering
      August 15, 2020
I'm guessing Prancing Ponies (which is also in downtown Carmel) is probably next on the hit list.

As you are aware, we're going backwards with this pandemic, not forwards. Today it was announced that all restaurant in-dining, bars, museums, etc in Monterey County will be closed (again) because of the increasing rate of testing positivity. It doesn't surprise me since every time I drive thru Carmel there's lots of people ignoring the mandated in-public mask requirement. It's sad that ignorant and inconsiderate people don't consider the bigger picture...other people's health as well as the impact on businesses because of their stupidity.

My crystal ball is in the shop, but I can't imagine that Mecum can hold an in-person auction in Aug. They have got to be fast approaching the cutoff for making such a decision.

Mexico is flooding USA with their Covid overflow due to their hospitals being overwhelmed (Mexico is about 2 months behind USA on the Covid curve, so I expect this will all settle down by September).

Not sure where you get that 75% farm labor from. In Monterey County, Ag only makes up 30.31% of the cases (as stated on the Monterey site you referenced). The Salinas area has seen the majority of cases since day-1 of this pandemic. As more and more businesses open up (restaurants, construction, landscapers, hotels, etc), a large portion of those service industries are supported by folks from Salinas and the Salinas Valley.

I presumed the 75% from the statistics (and probably higher since nearly 20% are unknown), however, the number of agriculture+unknown is 59% and zip codes for Carmel and Monterey (residence) are not present except for one in Monterey (93940) 11 active cases.

I get daily emails with updates to the Monterey County #'s. Several towns are lumped into what you'd call insignificant infection rates, so they're not broken out in the report...they include Big Sur (93920), Carmel (93921, 93922, 93923), Carmel Valley (93924), other Monterey zips (93942, 93943, 93944), Pacific Grove (93950), Pebble Beach (92953)

"the Lucky 10 zip codes — 93920, 93921, 93922, 93923, 93924, 93942, 93943, 93944, 93950 and 93953. Throughout the epidemic, those areas have collectively had just 26 cases, and not one of them has reached five."

Recently, Seaside (think Home Depot, Embassy Suites area) has been a relative `hotspot'.
