I agree, but new rules force to build hybrid cars, wheter we like them or not, unfortunately. McLaren is doing the same, Lamborghini too.

Top models have never been good value or reasonably priced for the difference. It's all about status and that extra few percent. The normal models are always the bargain, relatively speaking.

I think the bigger issue is that the SF90 doesn't look like a premium flagship. It looks like it could have been the F8 design if they really wanted.

Aventador looks like the flagship over the Huracan.
720s looks like the flagship over the 570.
SF90 doesn't really look like a model obviously above the F8. So unless this new V6 car looks super boring, I struggle to see why the SF90 will really look the price.

 

Completely disagree with the above statement. In person, if you have seen the SF90, it looks every bit the halo car as an Aventador or a 720. Comparing an SF90 to an F8- not even in the same ball park.

 

I do not understand the view that the SF90 looks too much like the F8. They don’t look anything alike. I haven’t seen one in person yet but it looks like a total space ship to me.

In my opinion, the difference between SF90 to F8 is far, far greater than the difference between Aventador and Huracan.

Totally agree. Ive seen both in person, have driven an F8 and anyone that confuses the F8 with an SF90 is clueless. Completely different looking cars. Not even close.

 

I’ve seen and sat in both and prefer the F8 looks both outside and inside. More analog. For screens everywhere I have my beloved Tesla

Also watch out tall guys, I’m 1,93m and can not fit comfortable in the SF90 as the battery behind your seats limits the seat range.

 

And what about bolts from new hybrid 3.0 v6 TT from coming Maserati MC 20?

 

No one said they look alike. I simply said that for a flagship at that price, it looks like they could have just used the design for the F8 and no one would have thought twice about it.

SF90 looks like a $276,500 car. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm pretty sure this new V6 will also look like $276,500 car. For the price they're apparently asking, I don't think the design is enough.

After proclaiming F8 and Sf90 and I quote- “It looks like it could have been the F8 design if they really wanted.” Now the claim is “no one said they look alike”

I sure one will be confused by how the cars look when the only opportunity you have to have seen them is in pictures.

That doesn't leave much time for many f8 deliveries or do you think they will make up the majority of deliveries for 2020 and 2021 production years to make up for a very short cycle?

 

Totally agree, they look nothing alike and when you sit inside both and turn the key the SF90 is totally different with its fully digital screens for the driver compared to the F8

Thanks for the tall guy note, I already struggle with the mid engine coupes (left leg resting pedal too close) let alone the spiders - not enough space for the seat to go back.

I am the same, can not fit in the F8 Spider, nor Aventador even coupe, nor Huracan. So hopefully the GTS has more headroom like the 812 does.

On my Speciale I fit but just so, same F8 coupe.

If you want a convertible V8 I went for the 765LT, as when tested the 720 Spider, it had more headroom than the equivalent Ferrari. I would say it has the same as the 720 coupe, which I own.

 

Thank you for that, much appreciated, I have been actively on the 765 LT Spider hunt! I am 1.92metres in height and its more in my legs. Also I had ACL surgery (basketball) on my left knee so when I sit in a V8 Ferrari the wheel well makes me awkwardly bend my knee for it to fit. Its ok for short drives but after 30-40 minutes it starts to nag me. I find that there is "fitting" and there is driving comfort position. I too hope the GTS provides more room, my Portofino and 812 are super fun and comfortable

If the new little brother is a V6 twin turbo: hybrid, I think Ferrari should call it a Ferrari Dino. Perhaps with a numerical reference to discplacement. Ferrari 306 Dino? 3.0 liters and 6 cylinders.(Just my musings) The original Dino never wore the a Ferrari moniker or prancing horse.

I wonder if the engine will use a 90 degree bank angle like the F1 cars which allow for a lot of room in between the banks or go with 65 degrees which was used in the original Dino engine design.

I’ll bet Ferrari goes with a 90 degree design. This allows for a flat plane crank which is better for turbo performance since the exhaust pulses are evenly spaced.

60 degrees is supposed to offer the best harmonic balance for a V6, but Ferrari went with the 65 trade-off to have a bit more working room.

I read that the little brother will have around 700 hp with twin turbos and hybrid.

This was the schedule six months ago but surely it must now slip not only due to COVID but also since it makes little sense to only produce the F8 for 18 months

 

I thought emissions mean f8 production has to end at the end of 2021,is that not correct?
