Hi, In cleaning out my garage I came across the old Ansa exhaust from my 308. It's got some strange welds that go part way around and then some spot weld looking things. I can't figure out what they would have been for. It's not crunched or damaged. Doesn't look like it was opened up. It's off my GTSi and it's a euro (cat delete) exhaust. Thanks for your thoughts on this. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is a repair to try and address rattling baffles. Given that a new exhaust in stainless is around $1K then a repaired ANSA is worth less than the cost to ship it anywhere especially when the insides are probably toast.
If you know of a new Ansa for less than $2000 for a USA 81 GTSi PLEASE, POINT ME TO IT. IM SEEING $3300- ish.
My pricing was not for ANSA it was for a replacement Stainless Steel Exhaust. The ones sold by Superformance are made in the UK and are of excellent quality. In fact they are much better built than an ANSA unit which is actually quite poorly made by comparison. That said ANSA is seen as 'original' and sell for a huge premium over other, better exhaust systems.
Thanks for the feedback and info. I agree it's not nice enough to warrant shipping anywhere. It's been sitting at the side if my garage for ages and as I pulled it out I was really just curious what the welds would be for.
Someone was chasing a problem.....I like ANSA but I would call that one "done" still though I would saw the tips off, save the snaps! I have bent one of those....backing up.
